Elevator pitch, comps, memes, moodboards, vibes, cover art, original character art Comps: X meets Y (social media pitches often use books, TV, movies, video games, etc.) Moodboards: a collage of pics that evoke a vibe Elevator pitch: MC has to do X to keep Y from happening or else Z bad thing happens Memes: A silly way to pitch your book Trope lists: what tropes are found in your book *No Genarative AI

So how do you pitch a book on social media?

If you're new to this, I'm going to share some of my fave resources for crafting a pitch that will fit (with hashtags) in a post.

I'll also share some examples of different things mentioned on this infographic.

Literary agents look for the #Q hashtag to find people that are ready to query.

If you use the #W tag people will know you're just sharing your project. It's a good way to practice still!

Missed this yesterday #BluePitHype but after doing tons of other events over the years here's my advice:

Temper your expectations. Of 7 books pitched across multiple years I only got like 5 requests and all eventually rejected. It happens. Don't worry. You can always query properly later 1/2

It's a day where everyone is collecting search the hashtag and sharing and promoting others pitch posts. Sometimes, it's to sell books, or attract the notice of a literary agents (if they like a post, it's an invitation to query them), or just get people excited about your projects.
