...so I can totally see how you might have done this, and frankly I'm surprised it doesn't happen more often... I feel like I've almost made this mistake several times.
there's a dangerous UX thing on some banking websites (but, importantly, not others) where they just assume that the last two digits you typed are the cents field — so there you type 24000 to get $240.00 — but other sites, spreadsheets, various other contexts, you have to type .00 to get decimals...
