I really wish Steam's "More like this" actually showed me games that are like the one I'm currently looking at, rather than just ultra popular games that happen share tags. It's really not fit for purpose.

Prince of Persia the Lost Crown is a gem!! Personally enjoyed it more than Hollowknight (2017). Still need to play Silksong though. Shame they’re not making a sequel to tLC

We’ve got to appreciate that there is a whole other side to gaming that ‘core gamers’ (icky term) are just not going to be interested in. Heck there are like 5 other sides. We might dabble, but TGA is not just for us. Doesn’t mean we can’t say they look pants, mind.

Why is AA seemingly such a repugnant term?
I think, for me, this is best represented in the RPG category. KCD2 is a far more robust and interesting RPG by most metrics whilst Clair Obscur is deemed a better game that also happens to be an RPG. The narrative of success carries it very far.

Risk of Rain 2 is one of the best roguelikes, but I think Hades is marginally better as a ‘game’ package overall because of its narrative. I’ve played about 100 hours of both, though 🤷♂️ and by golly is ROR2 one of the best OSTs ever to do it.
There are also plenty of people who appreciate a fresh and honest interpretation :)
