It's a Sunday, the sun is shining a little brighter in the deserty world, as it always does, and the house has a subtle hum of everyone slowly waking up and doing their morning routines.

predatory of EA to involve small creators. Being a creator or an influencer is a business. And if EA is your business partner, their customer sentiment will reflect on you. Just be professional about it.

So, at the end of the day, every creator drama boils down to people wanting all the benefits that come with associating with EA, but none of the responsibility. At least when it was bigger influencers, they already had a team or an agent to help them navigate. Which is why I still think it's

So the blog post says this, which is very open to interpretation. But I think there was also a QA which I didn't read so I'm not sure. I guess we will see in a week or so when it launches

My understanding was that it'll be like the gallery - you need to be online to access it, purchase and download, but will be able to play with whatever you have downloaded offline. Unless I missed them saying otherwise?

The Sims 4 is not an online game though. There are no servers to maintain, except for the gallery which is not required for the game to function. This isn't mobile and they still have a huge catalogue of existing DLC to sell. I don't see how it would benefit them to delist it.

Hopefully they'll just give up and move on to Project X and Rene or whatever if the community rejects it. It seems like everyone is hating on it which is good 🤞

I should do that too. I always set some dumb rules for myself like the lifespan thing and then get stuck and feel like I have to start over. Idek why, it doesn't make sense. I should just keep it fluid like you.

My record is also 4 gens but that's from like a decade ago lol

Young adulthood is definitely until 40. You're good. Happy birthday! 🥳

(Also adolescence is until 26, that's when your brain matures. It's science 😌)

The marketplace math: creators do all the work for free, company invests nothing, takes 70%. That’s a 100% margin built on independent contractors with no job security, benefits, or employment protections. it devalues game developers and artists too, and I really hope this blows in their face.

It could be that the short lifespan I was playing on is too rushed. But I have also been in a situation where normal lifespan felt too long and I got bored. I wish we had settings to adjust this on a per save file basis tbh.

That's funny because I feel like my in-game born sims are all clones of the parents and I have a hard time giving them a unique personality because of that. But I'm also always overly attached to the founder sim and probably end up neglecting everyone else in the household.

playstyle I like is supersim and rags to riches. But we've been getting a lot of generational features like with L&D and R&L most recently, which made me feel like I'm missing out on those features. I try this every year and every year I fail 😅

04.03.2026 18:15 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0

I think what I personally don't enjoy is playing through multiple generations. My favourite playstyles are either rotational gameplay with aging off where each of my households is themed kinda like people theme their generations. It's just horizontal for me instead of vertical. And the other

Yeah, I had 3 out of 4 household sims aging up on the same day. That's when you recycle the cake 🤣

04.03.2026 16:11 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0

I was doing what you're doing but rotationally with aging off. I should probably go back to that.

I don't think I'll ever be a legacy player. I grinded the kids into young adulthood on short lifespan and it wasn't fun. Now I've got an in-game born sim and no clue what to do with her. I just can't get attached to sims I didn't make in CAS myself. How do you guys do this? 😭

throats bc they've been burned, creators get hate bc they're seen as EA reps. But EA gets to print money on low quality products and hide behind the good press of 'we support the little guy'. The get to exploit our altruism and weaponize people's vulnerable financial situations in a shitty economy.

peer-pressure micro-influencer accounts who only come out of hiatus to fill your timeline with sponsored content around releases and beg you to use their creator code. The result is that everything is an ad, EA is not held accountable for the quality of their DLC, the community is at each others

04.03.2026 09:01 👍 4 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0

All this! And just to finish what I started yesterday, creator codes completely flipped the incentive structure of the creator eco-system. It changed how people do content, how they present their opinions on new DLC, how they engage with their followers, it created a whole new category of

tbf it was probably patreon that gave them the idea and the marketplace has been in development for years bc EA works at a snail pace. creator kits were probably a way to test the waters, gather data and see how the community would respond but yes, we are where we are precisely bc it was successful

I does help! I always feel like I'm stepping on toes here, so I'll take all the validation I can get 😅❤️

it's bedtime for me but maybe @whyeverr.bsky.social will fill you in? she loves ranting about it with me hehe 😁

i actually love simsie, i know her views on things, she's one of my most watched sims channels. but my girl did not have to go so hard on pushing EA's scams, that's all lol

03.03.2026 20:43 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0

creator codes were a disaster for the community and the game 😭 this is exactly my point, people fell for the propaganda

03.03.2026 20:41 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0

Not a dumb question at all! It's not that she's defended EA, it's that she used to promote creator codes and creator kits as a good thing because creators get paid from them. Her intentions were good but just not very well thought out and researched.

She doesn't have the best track record when it comes to EA's creator scams sadly but I hope she'll see the light now 😭

03.03.2026 19:35 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 2 📌 0

They were already taking shit for promoting sales via creator codes, now they'll be taking even more shit for actively funnelling 70% of cc sales into EA's pockets. It's so predatory
