Working white on black is a very different structure than my usual work. Even my strongly black pieces are drawn black on white.
It took me hours to do, and I had to redo some sections a dozen times to be happy with them.

Have been making my way through a close read of the Immortals rules. So much great stuff in there, although I'm realizing it could have been better organized. Below - a preliminary concept sketch of the cover, by Larry Elmore.

I situated Koralgesh in Eastern Ierendi. Fits perfectly, with the volcanic theme. Plus, it's too good of an adventure to situate way out there! Have your PCs from Karameikos take a short boat trip to the location
Touted as timeless masterpieces and arcade classics, this side of the ad celebrates the combination of Tower of Doom (1992) and Shadow Over Mystara (1996) as part of the collection. Both games were creative takes by Capcom on D&D for arcade audiences, bringing action-packed beat 'em up action tempered with a dash of RPG mechanics and familiar fantasy set in a slice of TSR's Mystara campaign setting. This side of the ad also notes that Shadow Over Mystara is a game exclusively for the 4MB RAM cartridge for the Sega Saturn!
This side of the ad notes a March 4th release date for the collection! It is noted as a two-disc set and will retail at Β₯5,800, or Β₯7,800 with the 4MB RAM cartridge expansion. It also shows off Jeff Easley's angry dragon which had also featured as the cover of 1994's "classic" Dungeons & Dragons Game by TSR.
Jeff Easley's illustration of a very angry dragon appears in this 1999 ad for Capcom's Dungeons & Dragons Collection for the Sega Saturn
Blending RPG aesthetics and beat 'em up action, both Tower of Doom and Shadow Over Mystara came home from the arcade packed together in a two CD set!
Dungeons & Dragons: Shadow over Mystara (1996) was a fantasy arcade beat 'em up with light RPG elements by Capcom and a sequel to 1993's D&D: Tower of Doom. Two years have passed since the defeat of Deimos, the big baddie in Tower of Doom, but now a new evil threatens conquest. (a dragon's thread)
I recently re-read the Dragonlord of Mystara trilogy, and realized that technically, only 3 of the 7 Flaemish settlements were in the Northern Highlands - the rest were in the South or Central Highlands. I tackled this discrepancy in my own fan made map - which you very kindly re-rerendered for me!
The Dungeon Hack cover shows the BECMI warrior fighting some sort of monstrous demon. This cover depicts a 3.5" disk version for the IBM.
The original art shows Raistlin fighting that demon with Fistandantilus in the background. This cover depicts its usage on the cover of Amigo's 1998 Magier & Priester for AD&D.
There's also this super curious piece: the Dungeon Hack computer game excerpted the warrior from the BECMI cover! It then composited it onto something Jeff Easley had drawn for the 1988 Dragonlance calendar. (The German Magier & Priester supplement also used the original piece in 1998.)
Mystara was my first love in D&D settings, long before Greyhawk. I still remember those maps from the Basic and Expert sets , sprawling kingdoms, hollow world theories, and flying ships powered by magic. It was weird, colorful, and full of wonder. #DnD #TTRPG #OSR

(source: https://flyers.arcade-museum.com/) Dungeons & Dragons (D & D) Tower of Doom is ... an action game where the appeal of swords and magic that has long captivated people's imagination is brought to life. D&D, a pioneer of roll-playing board games, has been transformed into a video game that loyally retains the special D & D mystique and challenge. All monsters and magic items that appear are the same ones that appeared in the original D & D game - no changes whatsoever. Players take the role of the fighter, cleric, elf, dwarf, or other player characters, who set out to reach the Republic of Darokin, located in the center of the continent. On their way, legendary monsters and dragons appear and try to keep them from proceeding. If the adventurers are to continue on their way, they must eliminate the threat of these mythical creatures by use of powerful magic and swordsmanship. Death-defying thrills and challenges wrap you in a dreamlike cloud of adventure. * 4 people can play simultaneously! New players can join in even after the game has started! * Monsters of the fantasy world make their appearance in stunning graphics! * QSound lends realism to the magic! The story unfolds differently each time you repeat the challenge! * A myriad of magic items!
(source: https://flyers.arcade-museum.com/) This page shows off two of the four characters players can adventure as: * Fighter - A swordsman of great strength whose long sword enables him to attack with long reach. * Elf - A long-lived sprite with characteristically pointy ears, who is well-versed in powerful magic, and is also nimble and shrewd.
(source: https://flyers.arcade-museum.com/) * Dwarf - An earth-dwelling being with a body as strong as steel, whose strength affords him exceptional skill with weapons. * Cleric - A warrior priest with the gods on his side, who cannot use bladed weapons but can use magic aided by heavenly miracles.
Dungeons & Dragons: Tower of Doom by Capcom debuted in 1993 boldly taking arcade goers on a grand adventure through a licensed adaption of TSR's fantasy world!
It seems to have also arrived in Europe the same year and was advertised with a neat multi-page flyer showcasing characters and monsters.
Iβve been getting into Mystara, the first D&D world (using OSE) over the past few weeks and really loving it. The map of the Known World is a big bugger
Today at the Atlas of Mystara: Michele Carpita's Vacros and Cathos v1 from November 2005. Following Andrew Theisen's proposed placements of MSOLO's islands in 1999, Michele mapped out his own ideas in 2005, using two islands featured in the Companion Set but missed out from Dawn of the Emperors.
Next step, statewide or nationwide?

I'm in...well what I consider to be too public of a space to really be loud or talkative, but I wanna try to stream soon. Nothing too intense, just Chronicles of Mystara on steam. Not sure how much I'm gonna be able to get done, but I'm antsy and want to play. i'll reply here with a link when ready.
Just boosting the signal for this feed related to TTRPG OSR D&D in general, specifically BECMI and Mystara. Add it to your list. Thanks for your support & Cheers! π

There's a HD spread for small dragons, and stats for large and huge dragons in the Companion Set rules, but I think Hill Giants are more a threat as a group
Although uncredited, this illustration from AC10 "Bestiary of Dragons and Giants" (1987) was likely done by Roger Raupp (compare the dragons to his illustration of a dragon from ICE's "Elemental Companion" (1989)
Raupp was mentioned in the review for AC10 in Dragon #148
