Sad, but I think you may be right. It's going to be pitiful. But on the bright side, it's going to make great political advertising for Dems!

All this chicanery (trickery, deception, and subterfuge) to find funds for subsidizing the wealthy. Trump is trying to buy acceptance into the billionaire cabal (his life's goal). But he's just being used by them (they really don't like him). He's not a real businessman, he's a fraud, a TV huckster.

You're right. It always struck me when economists would say that consumption was up. It took many conversations before I realized that economists meant consumption by the wealthy was up (not household consumption). In essence, economists were blurring the line of inequality.
