How Katamari and Shibuya-Kei tie the world together
love seeing stories I've been thinking about since i was 12 come to fruition.
On NPR - how the music of Katamari is linked to the genre of Shibuya Kei, and what it all means:

reviewed Silent Hill F, whose tilt towards action is fundamental to depicting Hinako's eruption of rage.
she is a bonafide star in this stellar, sinister, but not especially scary return for the venerable horror series. words over @theverge.com

'Silent Hill f' Is a Heady, Grisly, and Surprisingly Timely Horror Masterpiece
'Silent Hill f' isn't just a gruesomely glorious return for the legendary franchise, it might genuinely be one the best survival horror games ever made.
I donβt think the saying βweβre so backβapplies more than with Silent Hill f, an intoxicating survival horror game that weaves a brilliant fragmented story, has phenomenal atmosphere, and some genuine surprises. Genuinely one of my favorite horror games of all time www.inverse.com/gaming/silen...

Hugely thankful to @nicolecarpenter.bsky.social for coverage of our Games for Palestine charity bundle in @aftermath.site - a site I'm a huge fan of.
This is a really comprehensive overview of the organizations involved, including @unrwa.org and of the work to get this off the ground <3

Here's the other: Two weeks ago, over Zoom, I spoke with Quarter Up founder Mike Willette about Invincible VS, the new 3V3 tag fighter.
Yesterday, before the final day of SGF, I went to Skybound's Beverly Hills office to play it for an hour. Holy shit, y'all.

I totally get why 3d action games keep playing like FromSoft gamesβ¦but do they ALL need to look vaguely lovecraftian, too?

The theme for tonight seems to be sequels to 7/10 games that have a loyal following of reddit guys who get wildly defensive about liking it.

At SGF with NPR! In addition to a beefy radio story weβre doing for All Things Considered about VR, going to post some more incremental impressions and updates here, as I play through the dozens of game appointments I have this weekendβ¦

The video game industry at a crossroads
Podcast Episode Β· Consider This from NPR Β· 04/05/2025 Β· 10m
NPR let me go long on my post-GDC dispatch, which gets at the many tensions around layoffs, generative AI, and inflated budgets that the industry is grappling with right now.
You should listen if only for Keita Takahashi's very blunt assessment of AI.

I love the new episode of The MinnMax Show, it captures the excitement, confusion, and hot takes only available at the big unveiling of a new console.
Any help sharing The MinnMax Show is appreciated! youtu.be/zqUsDdnxqKM

90 dollar physical cartridges is actually evil. I loved collecting Switch physicals and now that's a legitimately difficult purchase to justify

Vanilla Wind Waker vs the remaster is the most bizarre Nintendo decision Iβve seen in a long time. Purely from a Nintendo centric financial standpoint

The partner showcase isnβt that meaningful to me but this is definitely big for the many, many people I know who are only plugged into the Nintendo infrastructure.
