Totally Not a Giant Bug in a Hat

I see the whole world's decided to be stupid again. Ah well.

I gotta paint that one.

A crustacean peeks out of a segmented, witch-hat shaped turquoise shell. It walks on three pink tentacles with white claws on the ends for grip. A large central tentacle snakes out from the place where the legs converge. Its end blooms out onto a multi-toothed, three-phalanged mouth. Three longng tentacles whirl and twist out of the sides of the shell. Each thin pink tentacle is terminated by an unlidded eye. Each eye is turned towards the camera.

I love it too. I've made my share of weird little goobers, but I haven't leaned into the grotesque...yet.

I write phone apps. Elevator pitches for "What if AirBnB, but for personal storage space?" from randos are bad enough. I can't imagine someone trying to lay out the plot of an entire book at me.

My wife went to a raku ceramics workshop this weekend. Phone cameras don't really capture it, but this piece is extremely shiny. Also, this piece is fiery skipper approved.

Me holding two small bottles of shimmery metallic paint from Turbo Dork. Galaxia, an opalescent liquid that dries into a purple metallic shine, and Black Ice, a metallic black coat. Both paints work best when layered over a black base coat.

Er...Galaxia, not Galaxian. Great stuff.

I took your advice but went with Galaxian for the highlights (my daughter loves purple). My phone camera doesn't do it justice, but there's a purple shimmer that gets less subtle the brighter the light is. She's a beaut!

Finally getting around to painting Herself. She's a massive and beautiful model that I've been eyeballing since the 90s. The whole thing is rigid except the tail, which is bendable.
