I know I say this fairly often: people are right to complain concerts are too expensive, but they got that way because a lot of artists started to make almost no money out of their actual records. We have to look really hard at how we pay for music.

A salutary read for all on the accuracy of output from LLMs
Spring is here! Oh, spring is here. Life is skittles and life is beer. I think the loveliest time of the year is the spring. I do! Don’t you? Course you do!
Exclusive: BBC Radio 3 has ended its relationship with Norman Lebrecht following an email to Yuja Wang the pianist described on Instagram as "derogatory misogynistic bullying."
Still chuckling about the cabin announcement on returning to the UK. “Its raining at Heathrow - as it has been for the last 3 months…” not entirely an inaccurate comment!
Spent sometime wandering around New York thinking of Tom Lehrer’s song about pigeons in the park…
I know this has probably been posted back and forth though Bedford was a highly diverse town when I grew up there. My middle school’s library in the 80s had a sign saying welcome in at least 10 languages (from my rather poor memory)
Glad to see the multi cultural town I grew up in giving someone a bit of extra free education…
View of the Royal Festival Hall stage with the Philharmonia Orchestra, Pacho Flores and Rafael Payare standing and facing the audience.
Not quite been as active on social media for a while so playing a little catch up - starting with this memory of a fab birthday present from my wife - a trip to watch the Philharmonia play Symphonie Fantastique and a modern trumpet concerto with Pacho Flores as soloist. Cracking night!
Well done me - a new personal best of 1 hour 45 mins for a (normally) 50 minute journey…. Thank god for music and headphones #travel
Excellent afternoon watching the matinee of HMS Pinafore at English National Opera. Multi layered production enjoyable at many levels - excellent introductions especially from @johnsavournin.bsky.social and Mel Giedroyc. Fabulous performance from all involved!

A reader‘s letter in the times which reads as follows: Old adversaries Sir, Your obituary (Jan 19) of Mr Justice Blofeld rightly referred to his fine sense of humour. When he first sat in Winchester a barrister called Richard Bond stood up to open the first case. Mr Justice Blofeld began to stroke the white ermine on the sleeve of his High Court judge's robes as if stroking a cat. He then said with a smile: "We meet at last, Mr Bond." Since it is national bird day, here are 2 curlews seen near Inverness in October 2025. First time seen in the wild for me.

Dad’s books are full of empathy, common sense, and a healthy suspicion of the powerful. But at its heart his work is also about how systems keep people poor while pretending it’s their own fault. So I hope Kemi’s taking notes as well as reading the jokes.
Cracking Prom from @londonsymphony.bsky.social wind, brass and percussion! Great solo from Peter Moore and features for all across the programme. More of that next year please!

Star Trek Voyager scene. Seven of Nine (tertiary adjunct of unimatrix 01) is pictured. She has a dolphin shaped metal robotic implant around her left eye because she is a borgs. Closed caption reads, "Fun will now commence."
It's the weekend, baby
I inherited my mother's bagpipes but was too embarrassed to practice because I've never had lessons. But the lad next door has started learning the drums, so I play at the same time as him. I learn from YouTube. I told his parents how he inspired me to learn.
Walthamstow Django the cat has been missing these past few days from around the orford road / hoe st area and his owners very worried. If you see him let me know and will let them know he’s ok!
