I’ve managed to write something for about 4 days out of 21 so far, but I’m still counting it as a win because four is also so much more than zero. And I’ve actually made progress on a new poem that I like & am hoping to include in my in-progress manuscript.
I’ve been trying to write a poem a day for the month of April in order to get myself back to poem-writing again after a too-long dry spell brought on by burnout, exhaustion, & grief.
It’s my birthday week! It’s also the last week of National Poetry Month. To celebrate, for each signed copy of my book ordered through my website (link in bio) between April 22 & May 1, I’ll also include a new little poem handwritten on the back of a pretty postcard.

By me you are a stranger made a woman’s man uncertain to himself within the wheel until you turn (but just as I turn) toward you and away. As if you ever could stop burying in me desires that I raise in you.

It’s been a year of upheaval, growth, and new beginnings. Growth is uncomfortable so much of the time. Healing hurts. But I’m still here, still growing.
