I’m not here to make friends. We drive through Maine to shave 400kms and 3 hrs off a round-trip to visit our daughter. We’ve long come to New England for vacation and our kids’ sports. I’m not going to stop.

Nothing like a crisp night air and a groomer’s light atop atop a mountain.

We have two ski days in Vermont to go, with a QC-ME crossing on Sunday to come. With 340 inches of snow to date I’m not sure we’ll see any ice at all. 3/3

Love New England, especially rural Maine, the harbours, sea ports, Boston and the ski resorts. The country stores, gas stations, diners and shops all have friendly owners & staff who greet you and see you off warmly. 2/3

Since Labour Day weekend we’ve entered the U.S. 10 times: 5 from NB, 4 from QC, 1 from overseas. Today we crossed from NB (Calais/St. Stephen!), & QC and the latter was proper chat & humour with our daughter giving the USCBP agent restaurant recos in nearby Sherbrooke. 1/3

Curious to know the child and youth advocate’s opinion on other social media platforms (i.e. Instagram). Their negative effect on young people and teens, especially young girls, is well documented. Is @susanholtnb.bsky.social and GNB continuing to use it for messaging?

Same here. Listened for years (Toronto - Andy Barry), Hance Colbourne in Saint John was good too. I haven’t really listened at all for many years, save for the occasional interview. Yesterday was a fluke when we were driving.

I go to podcasts now, US and Canadian.

This morning, listening to the local show, councillor Greg Norton was interviewed about a proposed data centre to be located in an industrial park. Greg spoke as well as a local pol would, the host had a few good questions, one opponent & ZERO industry people on.

Typically poor CBC.

I don’t watch At Issue. I don’t watch CBC/NW at all. I listen to the Front Burner podcast with @jaymepoisson.bsky.social occasionally and it’s all woke and/or one-sided.

Same with the little mornings shows. Can the producers not get multiple viewpoints together?
