That is amazing! Congratulations!
Another book for the must-read pile! What an amazing cover!
I can't wait to set aside the time for a close listen to this episode of @draftingthepast.bsky.social with @sdgorton.bsky.social.

On my must-listen list!
Fascinating article about #history and A.I. in the @nytimes.com today. I agree with Stacy Schiff: "βTo turn to A.I. for structure seems less like a cheat than a deprivation, like enlisting someone to eat your hot fudge sundae for you.β www.nytimes.com/2025/06/16/m...
Thrilled to be part of this podcast series, "Stories in Colour," coming soon from the National Gallery in London! It starts on May 28, and the cochineal episode will debut in June. (You can catch a glimpse of my jar of cochineal and some cochineal-dyed silk at the start of this trailer.)
80 years ago today, the war ended for my father.
The horror did not. His truck company transported prisoners released from the concentration camps to the hospital centers.
My dad suffered depression the rest of his life in large part from his WWII experiences.

It's too easy to forget how long wars can last for those who have to fight them. I'm so sorry for what your father and those prisoners endured.
Another ask is for "Books for a 9 year old girl who likes graphic novels, cats, and nature." Here we suggest Ra the Mighty by @abgreenfield.bsky.social:

Lovely to see this!
A truck of revellers passing through the Strand, London, 8 May 1945.
80 years since VE Day, a victory that depended on Allied cooperation. You can hear Churchill's 1945 announcement and see footage of the celebrations here, via the AP archive: www.youtube.com/watch?v=NEav...
Great to hear that! I'm looking forward to yours.
An apt quote for the times.
I'm relieved to hear that Elizebeth Smith Friedman is being honored again at the National Cryptologic Museum, along with other great codebreaking women and people of color. If only everything else that's broken could be fixed so easily!
Snowdrops in small crystal vase
It's been a chaotic week. Taking a moment to appreciate that the light is coming back. And so are the snowdrops.
Fellow NSA - National Security Agency veterans. Look at whatβs happened at the National Cryptologic Museum. They covered up with brown paper the photos of Women in American Cryptology. All in response to President Trumpβs anti-diversity executive order.
Such a pleasure to see you! I loved the post you wrote for e Dulemba about WEREWOLF HAMLET. β€οΈ
Great to see that this is open to artists and independent scholars, too!
It's #PublicDomainDay. U.S. Government photos, like Army Signal Corps, HAVE NO COPYRIGHT & are available from the Library of Congress, National Archives, & libraries (the #MarshallFoundationLibrary catalog: library.marshallfoundation.org/Portal/Defau... ).
DO NOT PAY BIG $.
A friendly librarian PSA.
Fantastic to see this, Melissa!
Thank you!
Just arrived on Bluesky! Still tapping on the doors & testing the light switches to see how it all works.
