that or i WAS doing it right, but the game is Too picky about How i did it one way or another. i cant explain fully because im trying not to say anything in specific. i want to be respectful to those who care about spoilers. other fans know what i mean, im sure 😅

pls dont read as "every puzzle is like this?! i cant play the game!" it wasnt that many of them. the game is still very fun. BUT i hated wondering if my brain was fucking melting when these puzzles would come up, only to figure out it was just that the game didnt even Try to nudge me the right way.

3 (cont again lmao this was actually rly frustrating LOL). like for a game like this, where figuring things out and finding clues and searching is Integral to the way the game functions! you dont think "lets make sure the player doesnt get stuck!" and allow for more helpful nudges? i dont get it.

3 (cont). there were times i had to bust out my phone and google while investigating because they Just dont say shit about what youre missing. a hint mechanic or better suggestion for what the fuck you need to do would be great.

dont Tell me straight up but WOW, sometimes that was unbearable.

3. i mentioned how they give just enough information to figure out the game, BUT sometimes they dont give you jack shit. not a hint. not a clue. nothing to lead you ANYWHERE.. to the point where i was just completely unable to progress. SOMETIMES, it was like OH IM DUMB but others? nah.

why i took 2 points off.

1. some of the puzzles are hard. not in a fun way. theyre finicky. its so unforgiving at points that i dont understand. like the kind of shit that makes you go "oh BROTHER"

2. you cant miss a single thing, since there is no record of what was said to refer back to. why.

ace attorney is one of the most well executed visual novels on earth also. a lot of them feel more like youre Just reading, but this one actually feels like youre playing a game. the way that you as a player are involved with the story is smth i havent really seen before in a visual novel. im amazed

you can also feel all the love and care that went into putting the story together too. like it just radiates off the screen the entire time youre playing. just a good experience all around. i fully understand why this series is loved by so many.. im so glad i took the time to become a fan!

even when you screw up, it feels rewarding to play. also love the fact that its got an actual HP system. when i booted it up i didnt expect that, but i believe it made it feel more like a game ans its smth a lot more visual novels could benefit from including.

they tell you JUST enough that you can understand and make the right choices, but they dont reveal too much, either. its a lot less passive compared to most other visual novels. as someone who loves the medium and has loved it for a long time, this is the best one i have played in terms of gameplay
