Time poverty isn't just about packed schedules. It's about the mental state of scarcity, the breathless feeling that there's never enough time, and the way we abandon ourselves in service of endless demands.

Thanks! Just need some customers to help us on our way to helping postgrads.

More of interest from @preventionweb.bsky.social Heatwaves kill more people in Australia than any other natural hazard. See www.preventionweb.net/quick/92929

#PurplePoppyDay 2025 in Australia is 22 February marking the National Day for War Animals. 130,000 Australian horses went to the First World War & only 1 returned. Horses, dogs, birds, camels, donkeys, mules & likely others served enduring the same horrific conditions as did humans #TheyAlsoServed
#WomenScienceDay Feb 11. First person to document atmospheric CO2 causes warming was Eunice Foote from New York (1819-1888). Scientist, inventor, womenβs rights campaigner. Eunice wrote the first known publication by a woman in the field of physics (1856). Her work pre-dates Tyndall by five years.
Today Feb 11 is International Day for Women & Girls in Science.
Thinking of all the women and girls for whom education is discouraged or forbidden. #WomenScienceDay

Peer review has pro's & con's - but mostly pro's. Can it be done differently? Change can be challenging, difference can be confronting, new, worthwhile things will be controversial for some. "We've always done it this way..." is no reason not to try something innovative. See @japr-ers.bsky.social
PhD by papers/publication is a great way to complete a PhD but can you have the required number of papers published/accepted by your maximum submission date? Publication can be glacially slow & scholarships run out. JAPR can help with our innovative model of peer review and submission.

JAPRβs innovative model of peer review maintains academic rigour & simplifies the whole submission process. Our system was created to offer an alternative pathway to facilitate postgrad publishing. JAPR offers another tool in the publishing toolbox, helping postgrads complete their degrees on time.
Excellent advice as usual @ithinkwellhugh.bsky.social But JAPR @japr-ers.bsky.social is brand new! We don't tick many of those boxes. We are NOT predatory & we are not linked to a big publishing house, we exist purely to give postgrads a foot in the publishing door in a straightforward way.
Thankyou to our new followers! We greatly appreciate your interest in us. JAPR is brand new. We have no impact factor, no ERA listing, not eligible for an ISBN - yet! We believe we are filling a gap for all postgrads, helping establish an early publication profile with less stress and fewer $$
Balancing work/life/study is challenging so remember (1) self care (2) use all available resources & support (3) say NO when you need to (4) ask for guidance if guidance is thin on the ground! Best wishes! We look forward to following some of you here.
Wishing all new postgrads smooth sailing into 2025 research or coursework. There will be ups and downs but you will not regret your decision to become a postgrad student or candidate.
