The Zambian government has expanded access to safe water to more than 4.9 million people. They joined the Heads of State Initiatives last May, and we look forward to supporting the development of programs and financing initiatives to achieve their national goals.
SWA Acting CEO @musitali.bsky.social met with Ms. Stenah Shampile and Mwila Daka, Permanent Mission of Zambia to the United Nations, to reiterate the partnership's support to the government in further strengthening national programs and providing the global leadership to achieve the water targets.
We congratulate the Republic of Zambia for being selected to co-chair the Interactive Dialogue on "Water for Cooperation" at the 2026 UN Water Conference. Their leadership will build on the role they played in organizing last year's PANAFCON, which contributed to the Africa Water Vision.
