What a time to be alive. Yay π

Oh my god, so beautiful!
Very nice game and cool story! Good job man π
AUTO-CRISIS is out!
After 18 months of development, this is my first full game release. Thanks for all the support!

My initial estimation was 8 months. And I really thought that I'm honest with myself π
Just realized that when I was creating an itch page for my game I was thinking that "YEAR AND A HALF IS ENOUGH TO MAKE MY GAME". Yeah, right... I have a lot, but the game is still missing a few important pieces.
Next time I will quadruple my estimations π

Technically you didn't wrote that OD is being developed with Decima, but it's implied, even if unintentionally. So, just to be clear: OD is being developed with UE5 π
Same here. But after a week I have no idea what it was all about π In my case, "clarified ideas" must go into GDD, otherwise will be lost forever.
The difference between those two (beside obvious ones) is that 'PG' will stay, the other one will not π
I genuinely think that PG assets and content are the future of game dev and, possibly also, gaming in general.
People will see the difference once the 'AI' buzzword will slowly fade.
Absolutely! Node system is great, simple and clever.
I'm quite bitter woth Godot because I started a 2D game with it and I think like 2 straight years there were no 2D features added (even those promised)... π
But, still think it's a great engine. When asked I'm mostly recommeding Godot π
I think Godot started to chase its own success (similarly to UE).
There was a point in time where it wanted to become the second Unity. 2D was left behind almost completely (2D physics probably (?) not done till today).
Godot was really cool for 2D and it should develop that way, independently.
You're right, UE is mostly a commercial success since people believed that it can do more than other engines, but with less effort. There are a lot of half baked features + a lack of clear goal for the future...
Other engines are falling into that trap also (like Godot IMO).
Gamedev is weird π
Oh, my π«£ What happened?
"We are all a corporation" β the game I'm creating β delivers a strong anti-corporation & anti-neoliberal message.
You can read about it in the games manifesto: ordinarysimon.itch.io/we-are-all-a...
If you like it, there will be more in the future!

I'm alive! Had about 4 months break from posting. Social media is hard, probably harder than gamedev itself for me π
The good news is that during that time I worked on the game as usual π
You can check it out on itch: ordinarysimon.itch.io/we-are-all-a...

Cholibka, powodzenia :)
Well, such small account as mine makes zero difference, but still I decided to leave Twitter.
From now on I'm officially BlueSky exclusive π
Great quote. It dangerously validates my own pursuits π (and possibly excuses my own bad design decisions π€)
But I think it's more important now than ever, since 2024 broke another record when it comes to released Steam games.
I made my first commit on 3rd of October 2024.
Until today, I spent about 225 hours on the project, which is roughly 2 hours each and every day since October.
This is the reality of my "gamedev afterhours" life. Two hours per day.
That's harsh!

So now we cannot argue about tabs and spaces, huh?
My proposal is that we will now start to argue about alignment, because I think this 'else' would look better on the left.
You see, they care! Sincerely.
Merry Christmas!

I don't know about sane π€ I definitely feel like a madman sometimes.
But if it comes to motivation it's almost always related to bad planning. When the roadmap is clean and I can see next goal - it's easy.

If you're interested in any part of the game, will be happy to answer your questions :)
"We are all a corporation" is a game about working for the world biggest corporation: Corporation Corporation corporation.
Thanks to this post I was able to use word "corporation" four times in a row. Was it my dream? No, but I did it anyway!

Well... hello! New kid on the block here π
Usually, I'm only reading posts from other creators, but this time it's different and feels incredibly odd!
This is my first game called "We are all a corporation".

What is interesting, is that the "pro" game ideas are actually not that different from the "noobie" ones. Often it's only a matter of shifting it a little-bit or changing the accents. For example, cool lore is still cool even in a small game :-) often only the "mmo" part is an issue.
