Boris Johnson says Keir Starmer has made us an irrelevance on the world stage...
It was! Hope you are having a good weekend โฎ๏ธ

Trees leafing up in the gloom, grass around them.
It was pacing week at Catford #parkrun, I had a slightly bigger number than normal on my back - there were a couple two PBs as a result. Artistic arrow & cone flinging before (set up) & puddle jumping & fallen tree climbing like a 3 year old, with a 3 year old, afterwards. #JogDivision #GreenRunners

Catford #parkrun 339 saw 191 finishers in slippery conditions - there were 33 1st timers, with 3 doing their 1st parkrun. There were 24 PBs some helped by our brilliant team of pacers. As always, a massive thank you to the 31 volunteers who made it all happen!

Early stroll. Drizzle gently baptises my face. The horizonโs hesitant smile. A gathering of plant pots by a side door. Number plates as lyrics, engine sounds as music. A man crosses the road at the speed of hi-vis light.

Early stroll. The made-to-measure sky. A possibility of loitering mist. Historic sites of former puddles. The bus passes slowly, like time sometimes does. A security light blink, blinks again, then stays awake.
It seems to have been a good year for them, everywhere in my neck of the woods at the moment.

I feel confident that the sort of people who moved to Dubai to avoid paying tax would say that those fleeing war in other countries are not our concern and they should seek refuge in a neighbouring country. In this case Iโd suggest Iran, which they can reach by small boat.

That a slow, struggle of a 10k was the second longest run of the year, is a sad indictment of my health and fitness in 2026. Itโs a base to work from though, and further than I thought Iโd manage when I left home for Sutcliffe Park. #GreenRunners #JogDivision #RunningPunks
Early stroll. String tied around a streetlight. A pile of twigs like a fascinator museum. The simple beauty of a bus shelter. A yellow and green toy supermarket trolley in a garden. That fence is wearing a discarded jacket.
