Preaching on the Day of Resurrection is the most difficult assignment in the church calendar.
The Resurrection is unique. It is the one event that occurs in and from another realm altogether. In this life we have no access to it. We know it only through faith in the One who lives and promises.

It is sad. We have created a system building up church structures at the expense of the local faith community. In a few years the Episcopal Church is going to be a few churches with an endowment.

We hold to baptism before communion and seeing those who come up week after week for a blessing, waiting for their baptism, makes their communion even more emotional.

Advent One: Let us not be be confused by thinking the ‘expectation’ of Advent is about Jesus in a manger nor the incarnation of Christ. Today we remind ourselves that we prepare for the second Advent of God thru faith in God’s next beginning.

I know student loan debt can’t be sold off the way medical debt can. But it does not mean the church couldn’t band together to pay off student loan debt.

Sorry I was trying to say this is something they clearly know and yet have not made adjustments. Executive council is way too big, it is difficult for a board to be effective when it is too large.
