Forgot it was the first Wednesday. Awoooo!
Forgot it was the first Wednesday. Awoooo!
I think it was on a commentary podcast where RDM said something like βyou canβt hate Baltar.β My reaction was βOh yes, I can!β Iβm sure he was a fun character to write, but I loathed him.
A skein of handspun yarn. It was the August 2025 Melly Knits Blossom Sommelier. Art. A blend of 90% Debouillet/5% sari silk/5% mulberry silk, this aqua 2-ply is just shy of 274 yards of heavy sport/light DK weight
2 spinning projects in progress, both with spun singles. On the left is a wooden spinning wheel bobbin with a blend of cream and gold singles. This was hand combed wool I blended on a hackleβa mixture of of undyed Texel, some dyed Shetland (in pale blue, pink, and green, which isnβt really noticeable in this shot), white mulberry silk, and gilded muga silk. On the right is an espinner with Ebony undyed Haunui.
I havenβt posted for #SundaysAreForSpinning in a while. ICE is still here in MN and weβre nearing another month end. Consider donating for rent relief at www.standwithminnesota.com
I remember there was a great thread on the Bad Place with freaky European folk costumes. A guy in a suit made of burrs, the Mari Lwyd, evil cow costumes, and lots of costumes incorporating straw.
As a knitter, I love this womanβs hat and sweater. Iβm fairly certain both are handknit. Photography credit: Jana Hollingsworth/The Minnesota Star Tribune.
And the number 2 and 3 are at the university student unions (there are 2, on different ends of campus).
Spinners, not Spinnets π‘
Itβs West Yorkshire Spinnets ColourLab Sock DK, colorway βRock.β Itβs my first time making socks with DK weight yarn.
And done. We didnβt have contests for delegates (we were a bit short for both state senate district and city delegates) and only had 5 or 6 resolutions.
The start of a DK-weight sock. The yarn is variegated in shades of grey and red. Itβs in blue metallic DPNs. Iβve cast on and knit one round in 2x2 ribbing.
Measuring my time at the caucus tonight using a sock. The starting line:
Itβs near the end of the month and people need help with rent (itβs hard to work if youβre scared to leave your home, or if your hours are cut because foot traffic is down). Please contribute to a mutual aid fund.
And it is still #WIPWednesday . Details in the alt text. #Knitting #KnitSky π§Ά
Even simpler: a bunch of normies learned the term thanks to Signalgate, when Hegseth said βWe are currently clean on OPSECβ
Payne for Governor!
Use the fresh snow as an opportunity to snow-wash any woolen items you have
Thank you for sharing these links!
I havenβt posted for #WIPWednesday in a while because of the terror campaign ICE has been running in my city and state and it seemed frivolous.
Read Naomiβs blog post below for ways you can help and prepare yourselves.
If you want details on the #Knitting , theyβre in the alt text. #KnitSky π§Ά
Thanks for the advice (both of you). I did wash the plate and slow down the first layer (which is what got me to do 15). I think Iβll try using glue the next time I try for a full plate print.
After learning he got Chotinered, I looked up the interview. This exchange happened, and then another 2/3 of the interview happened. Same behavior, different medium.
Bless you (in a non-sarcastic way) for the grace you tried to extend to him. But yeah, that post was what set me off, too.
It was frustrating, but also funny in a βlook how out of touch these strategists (NOT consultants!) areβ way, but now itβs just sad. Sad that heβs crashing out like this, but even sadder that leadership will still listen to him.
Thanks for this feed, by the way. In the before times, it was nice to see posts by locals I didnβt necessarily follow (though Iβve also found people to follow through it). But itβs even more important now.
An espinner with a spinning project in progress. The fiber is ebony Haunui top, which is a very dark brown (not quite a true black)
The way folks in Minnesota have formed networks to support their neighbors is awe inspiring. If a politician or political party asks for your $ to help βthe people of Minnesota,β instead, send a few bucks to an org here: www.standwithminnesota.com . And still #SundaysAreForSpinning #Handspinning π§Ά
Thatβs what Iβve been printing, but I have problems printing en masse. Iβve been able to do a batch of 15, but have adhesion problems and stray filament when trying to fill the plate. Any suggestions on settings tweaks for an A1 mini?
Can someone explain to me the nuanced difference between a consultant and a strategist?
The Sioux Falls package is now in Omaha, while the Philly package has moved to an unidentified location. π€·ββοΈ
And his skeet about βinauthentic accountsβ was quoting one of his replies who called us all Russian or Republican trolls. He may not have explicitly called us bots, but he elevated a reply who certainly implied that.
Fellow Russian bots, repost with an obscure proof of life in MN.
My knitting at the State Fair, and a 100-mile hiking club patch.
Screenshot of USPS tracking for a package to be delivered to Minneapolis. January 12: in Gastonia, NC January 13: arrived in St. Louis, MO January 15: arrived in St. Paul, MN January 16: arrived in Philadelphia, PA?
Screenshot of USPS tracking on a package destined for Minneapolis: January 16: departed St. Paul, MN January 16: arrived Minneapolis, MN January 17: arrived at Sioux Falls, SD?
Iβve had some weird USPS package movements the past couple days. One of as initially tracking for delivery yesterday, made it as far as St. Paul, and now is in Philly. The other, initially tracking for delivery today, made it to MPLS before diverting to Sioux Falls.
Inauthentic my ass. Why Iβve been seeing you get dunked on so many times is b/c itβs popping up on a local feed of MSP accounts. Vs you, who couldnβt even get the partyβs name correct in your original post. You must advise Gavin Newsom, b/c a fundraising text I got from him had the same problem.
