The Representation of the People bill is getting better by the day, but there's a long way to go before it really does the necessary.

@Nigel_Farage isn't an MP - he's a self-publicist using the House of Commons as a way to make himself rich.
He does nothing for his constituents at all.

Today we launch our plan for Wales, putting behind us the dark days when Nathan Gill, the Leader of Reform in Wales, took bribes to do the bidding of foreigners.
In other news, we have just had another £3million donation from a crypto investor who lives in Thailand...
Pretty difficult to refute a single thing in this perfect assessment of where the f**k we are, from @iandunt.bsky.social:
Handing massive tax breaks to fossil fuel companies is just stupid. They don't need the money but it could really help, say, the NHS.

Never underestimate sustainable farming! 🌱🌍 It slashes human-caused GHG emissions while rebuilding healthy soils and strengthening communities. Less chemicals, more biodiversity = real climate action. Who's ready to farm smarter? #SustainableFarming #ClimateChange
Agriculture, properly done, doesn't destroy the ecosystem it depends on.
Well, well, well - so there is a way for people to thrive sustainably? Who'd a thunk it?

Looks like The Express wrote the headline before the conference happened.
It’s clear now that they were due to announce someone like Kate Hoey, and it didn’t happen, leaving them with a defector that no one knows.
It’s embarrassing.
I think @doctorow.pluralistic.net would be proud

LibreOffice is fine - the word replacement does all the necessary but doesn't have all the crappy stuff no-one ever wanted. The spreadsheet has a glitch or two but nothing serious (but that might be me fiddling with stuff... will I ever learn?)
“So the clashes between Keir and Kemi at PMQs felt almost existential. A battle between sanity and the distorted reality of an angry teenager. Thankfully sanity won out.”

In the UK, the rules allow just about anyone to pay to influence the government.

Harborne being a bit mean - he gave much more last time.
Or are crypto magnates running out of dosh?
That really would be good news.
Of the £5m+ donated to Reform in the final three months of 2025, more than half (£3m) was given by crypto investor Christopher Haborne.
The rest appears to have been given by an assortment of metals traders, asset managers, and property developers.
That means, in the same week that Farage called for non-UK citizens to be disenfranchised, he announced a new £3 million donation from a Thai-based investor 🤡
Do I need to remind people about the 1968 Commonwealth Immigrants Act, passed by (what would now be called blue) Labour to try to steal Powell's thunder?
They have history on racism, as does the whole trades union movement.
And don't mention the misogyny, of course.
And don't forget the Mabinogi - Sioned Davies translation is fabulous (in every sense)
Malory wasn't the "original" - for that, you need to go back to the Mabinogi, there's a great translation by Sioned Davies.
They're no better than the tories on this issue.
Immigration is falling rapidly - but no-one says that out loud.
And the mean minded racism is unforgivable.
Palantir should not receive a penny of public money.
It is led by the deranged Peter Thiel who has long spoken against democracy, is a close ally of Trump and Vance, and who spends much of his time lecturing about the Antichrist (whatever that is).
Don't let Palantir near the NHS.
NHS official pushed to add patient data to Palantir platform whilst also advising company
A lobbyist who worked directly for Peter Mandelson, on the Palantir board, and on the board of *four* NHS trusts.
Lobbying the NHS to hand over even more patient data to Palantir.
This absolutely stinks. Get Palantir out of the NHS. Sign my petition:

I see lessons have not been learned from the spectacular loss of Gorton and Denton.
If Labour insists on continuing down this route, then they do honestly deserve to lose the next GE.
Utterly infuriating.
A new analysis of 95 posts by BBC political editor Chris Mason suggests the issue may not be accuracy – but framing.
No single headline is inaccurate. Impartiality rules appear unbroken. But repeated talk of “predicament”, “backlash” & “U-turn” frames a misleading story of permanent crisis..
From Heather Cox Richardson, in case anyone thought this was a lie:
