"the prodigal ones" off of their latest album, Ànv, is probably the best example i can gesture at of this. and the thing is, too, the guitars are *often* doing interesting things, it's just it's always while they're just droning that they drown out everything else

getting back into eluveitie and i still have to complain abt the mixes on these albums. the guitar (doing nothing of note) is always way too loud and fully drowns out the instruments of interest, even though they're actually really, really well-written
