Here I am worried about dumb shit like the fascist takeover of America and children starving without SNAP. Meanwhile, Monday Night Fooball isnβt on YouTube TV.
WHAT ARE WE GONNA DO, GUYS? THIS IS SERIOUS!!! We must get football back if we are to survive as a nation.
I meanβ I wasnβt looking for another CRT but for $0.99 how could I pass this up? Apex GT2015DV TV/DVD combo. Very not bad picture for a dollar on S-video.
Apparently the chassis is RGB mod-able so thatβs another project for the pile. I already have some Sunthar SCART boards lying around.
Donβt be fascists and you wonβt have to deal with anti-fascists. Seems simple.
It's looking good!
#earthbound runs a cool three hundred bucks loose. A copy of Mother 2 can be had for about 1/10th that price. These adapter boards cost me a few bucks each and the TSOP flash chip another $3, so all-in less than fifty to play on real hardware. Not too bad.
This is what I do in my spare time because thereβs something wrong with my brain
Final Fantasy VI with the Ted Woolsey Uncensored Edition rom hack
Original game is 24mb, hack is 32. So I just stacked the 4th chip on top of the third and wired its enable pin to the unused output on the 74LS139
I recently got a copy of Star Ocean for the Super Famicom and I was intending to replace the mask rom with a flash chip so I could patch it.
Wellβ someone else had the same idea but botched it. several ripped pads and disconnected legs. I just needed to add a few bodge wires and it works!
Pickups from #VCFMW
I grabbed some neat stickers, a couple SuperDisk disks, an Orion build-a-blinkie, a PCMCIA NIC (WITH dongle), a couple Pentium 90s and a 486 DX/33
Off the free pile I got this Gateway 486 (board only inside) and a decent little 13β TV with a component input.
The clear SNES from my table at VCF almost didnβt happen. I fried the CPU and work RAM accidentally the week before while troubleshooting another mod. I had never attempted swapping out one of these 100-pin QFP chips before, but it worked and ran perfectly all weekend.
Hahaha I forgot her nameβ I about died when she made you all come over and talk to usβ I wonder if she ever found that purse
Hah! I was walking by when guy bought that thing. Brownest Mac Iβve ever seen. Itβs a limited edition (of one) bronze IIsi
Iβm amazed that itβs that discolored and not broken.
Iβm watching the video now, but I have a sneaking suspicion that the power supply is dead
Vibe central. I loved passing by this all weekend
So pretty with the white ceramic package and gold legs
I couldn't believe how perfect that Gateway tower was. The sound from that MT-32 was really nice to hear in-person, too.
Iβveβ¦ seen things you people wouldnβt believe at #vcfmw
I had an amazing time, talked to some super cool people, tabled for the first time at anything ever, and made a couple nice scores from the free pile.
No, Robβ weβve been over this, you can only play Gyromite or Stack-Up and I donβt have all your other pieces.
Joe at the end, lol!
Steve did a 24 minute speed run through Symphony of the Night and said it wasnβt a good one. To which I say, you are wrong sir. Well done. #vcfmw
Umβ¦. Wow. This battery was starting to expand when I removed it from my Quadra 700 but I think itβs gone prompt critical
Heck yea. MT-32 and SoundCanvas are ridiculous for DOS games, still kind of blows my mind this kind of stuff was possible in the 90s if you had the gear for it.
I built up a MT-32 Pi for external use, and a WavetablePi board for attaching directly to a sound card's headers. Very cool stuff.
Transformation complete. I think it looks pretty good. #nintendo64
My #nintendo64 was randomly freezingβ especially with the expansion pak installed. I did a recap and found the originals were quite leaky.
Unfortunately the 220ΞΌf in my kit were just a little too tall so I had to replace with some other caps I had in stock.
Seems to be running well now!
Shoot, I had been checking the site daily and I must have *just* missed it. Looks like it did wellβ hopefully I can grab one next time around. Thanks for all your work on thisβ I canβt wait to try it out.
Amazing work, thank you!
MRW it just freaking works
These things are awesome. I have one at the heart of my retro setup. RGB SCART from my automatic switches goes into one of these to send YPbPr to my CRT TV. Plus it'll take power right off the SCART socket
Turned a grubby old #gamecube into this sexy beast.
Next up on the healing bench is this grubby-ass GameCube I picked up on eBay for pretty cheap.
Dead drive, but I bet it just needs a recap. If I can save the optical drive, Iβll do a PicoBootβ if not, weβre going full ODE.
I had to take this dude home, he looked so worried
