And Britain is also not really the best example for the benefits of monarchy right now.

Noemi’s β€˜reassignment’ is proof that if enough Republicans stand in opposition to Trump, they can force him to make changes. We’re in the position we’re in as a country not just because of Trump but because Congressional Republicans by and large don’t object to us being there.

Human rights, by definition, are universal and apply to all humans, even torturers, rapists, and murderers. Protecting their human rights doesn’t mean they can’t be jailed, it just means they get due process and can’t be legally tortured, raped, or murdered themselves. This isn’t actually difficult.

He did get one Purim-relevant image in there. Don’t know how that happened!

Also, in entertaining inter generational drama, the Talmudic scholar great grandfather was not happy his son decided to become a rabbi since what sort of job was that for a learned Jewish boy?

The last of these was not happy to have the daughter he sent to college to meet a rich husband end up marrying the semi-literate son of a shopkeeper who bought his paint.

Going back a generation, on father’s side we have a Talmudic scholar and a peddler. On mom’s side we have a wallpaper and paint store owner and a paint factory owner.

My maternal grandfather owned a wallpaper store. My maternal grandmother at one point taught computer programming at Rutgers but was mostly a housewife. (I know it only asked about grandpas. But this grandma did have a job and feels relevant.)

My paternal grandfather was a rabbi.

The 2nd sentence might be the funniest thing Trump has ever said if he were even the tiniest bit self-aware.

Also, I don’t believe his first sentence.

Lutnock agreed to testify without a subpoena?

I take any opportunity I can to poke fun at English imperialism.

03.03.2026 23:40 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

I’m aware. I’m having a go at English imperialism and how they historically think of the Welsh.

Which means England can deploy it as it wishes to spare the lives of inferior English reptiles.

Or living without it!

I’m so sorry. Napping is one of the greatest joys of my life and I can’t imagine loving without it.

β€œEnough sleep” that post should read. Ugh, I think it’s time for a nap.

History repeats itself. First as tragedy and then as farce.

My vision tends to get blurry when I haven’t gotten enough so I usually resolve my version of your saga with taking a nap. That’s actually how I resolve most of my daily sagas, to be fair.

Man, if Starmer had revealed England had actual dragons in their military, Labour would have cruised to victory. Missed opportunity for Keir.

That has to be the most ahistorical nonsense I’ve ever seen.

I hope you’re staying as safe as possible.

And curiously has not posted said article here.

He has constantly sought to increase tension with Arab and Muslim countries believing it helped him politically (which it demonstrably did numerous times.) Unless you focus on some of thee things he said and did in 2009 and ignore everything else, it’s impossible to say he avoided conflict.

Once he was PM again in 2009, though he made some rhetorical moves towards a 2-state solution, he refused to reign in West Bank settlements and by 2010 was actively supporting their expansion, which he has continued to do.

In 2002, while out of office, he testified before Congress supporting the invasion of Iraq. In 2004 he threatened to resign from the cabinet of Israel pulled out of Gaza and blasted the 2008 ceasefire with Hamas.

What the fuck is this revisionist nonsense? Netanyahu has been provoking conflict with the Palestinians since he first rose to power. For instance, in 1996, he opened an exit of the Western Wall Tunnel into an Arab neighborhood knowing it would be provocative and it set off days of rioting.

The report might be true but the video is definitely fake.

I have successfully written two paragraphs. This might seem impressive, but it’s for a paper I’m presenting at ISA at the end of the month and it’s little more than an intro, a summary of the US-China trade war, and an outline at this point.

02.03.2026 19:01 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

It’s really hard to focus on the Trump trade war paper I’m supposed to be writing today when a Trump war war has just started.
