Can I stump for the latter? I thought it was a really good production of a very tricky play. I have a similar relationship with The Crucible. I have loathed it since high school but for me the production at the Yard made it about as interesting as I think it’s possible for it to be.

Canadian cultural nationalism of the late 60s and 70s was definitely caught up with draft resistance. While I would argue that the development of Toronto theatre during this time shouldn’t always be seen through a nationalist lens, draft resistors were influential in it, in a variety of ways.
