How did they leave that off? Do they think the machines arenβt controlled by humans?

Getting Napoleon invading Russia vibes.

I thought I knew the story of Clever Hans, but TIL that he was drafted into the German army and killed in action in WW1.
Atlanta Streetcar enters the chat.
Itβs like giving out 19 MoH for participating in the Wounded Knee Massacre.
China's Xinhua news agency has just published this editorial cartoon in response to Trump's rejection of climate policies.
It is pretty clear that China views this as a HUGE geopolitical fumble by the US leaving the field clear for China's to win the global race to clean-tech hegemony
The U.S. nuking itself seems plausible though.
I agree, but I should mention that the opposition here isnβt an organic movement that accurately reflects community sentiment. It was a successful vote-turnout operation that overwhelmed the unorganized people in support.
Exactly! The property owner isnβt some shady grifter; itβs a church thatβs been a pillar of the community since before most people in the neighborhood were born.
Kinda funny that I wasn't aware of this proposal when I wrote this How I'd Fix Atlanta piece, but it hits on every single point.
This now goes to city Zoning Review Board. I hope they consider the fact that the city's future growth and prosperity depends on there being more housing in walkable places that doesn't exacerbate auto-dependency.
The most vocal opposition hits all the usual talking points: it's out of character for the neighborhood, it's too much density, where's everyone gonna park? I live 3 blocks away, and I assure you the answer to all those questions is <massive eye roll>.
It is in a walkable neighborhood with most necessities within a 5-10 minute stroll. Two MARTA stations are a 20 minute walk. Downtown Atlanta is a 25 minute bicycle ride. I know all these statements to be true because I frequently make all of these trips on foot, by bike, or on MARTA.
A site plan for 47 micro units on two parcels currently zoned single family.
Who wants affordable housing in a post-gentrification neighborhood? I do. Here's a proposal to build 47 units of supportive housing on land currently zoned single-family. This would increase the housing supply by a factor of 6 compared to the current zoning. The neighborhood voted 2 to 1 AGAINST it.
A mockingbird chasing away a hawk.
Mockingbirds chasing the hawks off. I love it.
So the transportation plan for future Atlanta is everyone drive everywhere all the time. That'll work great. 10/10. No notes.
Interesting that the actor who played Jaime Lannister is Danish and his wife is Greenlandic.
Where is our Jaime Lannister?
Tickets are also on sale now for our live show in Atlanta on Friday, March 13th at the historic Plaza Theatre, presented by @letspropelatl.bsky.social. See you there!

Hell yeah!
Itβs either incompetence or negligence, pick one. Or pick both I guess.

Iβm afraid weβre still a long ways from the bottom.
Deaths per 100M miles is not a useful public health metric; deaths per 100K population is. A system with low deaths per mile but still forces everyone to have huge numbers of miles is still less safe than one that doesnβt force everyone into cars. You can see that in the death per 100K data.
Very Gen X of me to assume others would immediately recognize lyrics from a Nirvana deep-cut track.
