Wish me luck — on a bus full of 5th graders on the way to Kennedy Space Center. About an hour trip.
I think it’s actually going to be a great day. 🛰️

Lots of places here are built for visitors. Daytona is by far the worst for that.
In Orlando at least, we have a small slice that is very much ours.

I have been teaching for 19 years in public schools in Florida. 12 years in middle school, 6 in elementary, one (pandemic) online high school.
I have never seen a kid pick another kid’s nose.
How about just being a non-Nazi space that welcomes everyone, why don’t you try that
Mission Accomplished.
I have a middle schooler who is mortified his new deodorant will "smell too nice" in school and he'll be socially deleted. How do we get this man just a fraction of an average middle-schooler's sense of shame.
I could not read this to my husband all the way through without breaking down in laughter.
Bro he picks other people’s noses!!
QPing mostly for the .gif
My opinion is that the Tampa Bay Area is the Most Florida of Florida.
St. Pete is nice…but yeah. We go over Pinellas-bound every summer chasing a grief sunset, or if a friend has something going on, otherwise, no.
as a kid my dad teased me for loving the ewoks bc "of course you like the teddy bears" and I said "dad those teddy bears helped take out a galactic empire using sticks and stones" and he never did it again lol
Jesus.
FWIW the Dems are better organized here in Orange — which was not always blue — behind younger folks like Anna Eskamani & Maxwell Frost.
Between Broward & here, I lived in Palm Beach County, where they are renaming it Tr*mp International Airport. No thank you.
I lived in Davie very briefly but never talked to my neighbors, then spent the next five years in Hollywood then Wilton Manors. And canvassed two Obama elections there.
If it were me I would.
For awhile.
I moved to Broward in 2007, DWS was my congresswoman for a bit, very very very blue in 2008, and I would honestly say that Broward is a lot of blue-voting folks & people in charge who take their constituents for granted. Miami made that mistake for too long & lost a lot of ground.
A lot of people cannot!!
I know you cannot determine safety from a binary blue/red designation, but the two largest securely blue counties in Florida are Orange (Orlando, my home) and Broward (Fort Lauderdale & 800 suburbs).
Others have called it “a place resembling a city” but I’d make a strong argument that Orlando is the safest place to be, politically speaking.
This is mostly what I mean. This is what they are doing to Miami:

The rivalry between USF (my current institution) and UCF (my beloved undergrad) is made up but the hatred between Tampa & Orlando is intense.
Oh my GOD
Roofer & I honestly have no idea.
Tampa is the second worst, fight me!!!!!!!!!
Jacksonville is the worst major city in Florida, I am definitely going to catch strays for this, but dear LORD.
(Miami is racing for the bottom but it does have a lot of cultural cache that should save it from doom for a few years, maybe a decade.)
The rock bottom of getting banned from Waffle House in JACKSONVILLE of all places, then the bottom getting lower & extending to all FLORIDA Waffle Houses.
A simple test for America's law firms and universities: Will you show as much integrity as Waffle House?
