I do get why a lot of people like humanoid starters though, this is just my preference

I do also think the forced profession thing limits imagination kinda. Harder to think of a personality for your Cinderace when they're all forced to be a footballer lol

so yea I think I dislike them being basically people, and not animals. It feels weird when what's essentially a person can't talk and is being instructed by another person xd

and modern starter evos aren't designed like creatures, they're designed like characters, more akin to something you'd have on your party in a traditional RPG. It's why they all have a profession of some kind. But then how would a pokemon being a drummer or James Bond help it survive by itself?

My take on the bipedal vs quadrupedal pokemon starter evos is that it's not just about them being on 2 legs, they're designed to be much more humanoid, this may be a personal take but I much prefer when a pokemon is a believable creature I could see a species of existing in an ecosystem
