I create creatures both real and fictional. I’m a big fan of Monster hunter, the Jurassic films, and Godzilla. I also really enjoy fishing and being in nature. he/him Carrd: https://jaycethecreaturecreator.carrd.co/

A comic entitled False Spring with the text, “feeling tired because of the time change but also excited for more light? DON’T BE! Because 6:12 am to 6:34 pm and 7:12 am to 7:34 pm ARE THE SAME AMOUNT OF DAYLIGHT! Don’t be fooled! Only the Earth’s time can affect the day’s length! Brought to you by people against changing the damn clocks (or pretending they have the power to save daylight)
A little reminder for those of us experiencing daylight “savings” time today. 🐡 #daylightsavings
I firmly believe that the loss of people like Anthony Bourdain and Steve Irwin, who promoted wonder and awe at the diversity of our world at all levels, is one of the biggest contributing factors to the negative trends we’ve seen in mainstream culture since the 2010s onward.

Week 2: Gengar.
Gengar!
Week 2
a Megamastax explores very shallow waters in search of food, it kicks up fine sediment as it swims along Megamastax is the largest Silurian bony fish found so far. it was only known from a lower jaw bone for many years until 2026 when a full skull was found allowing palaeontologists to find where it may sit in the fish family tree. Its head was incredibly wide at the base but also somewhat flat making it look vaguely like a squashed cone, one of the most interesting features of Megamastax is its tooth cushions which are small bulbs of teeth that were probably used to secure prey in place
an artificial light illuminates an Ornitholestes trying to sleep amongst the branches of a ginkgoale with cf. Eretmophyllum leaves Ornitholestes is a small theropod dinosaur that is of uncertain relation to other maniraptorans (the group of "bird-like" dinosaurs such as Velociraptor, Gallimimus, Oviraptor, and others), though some evidence points to it potentially being the most basal member of Oviraptorosauria. Ornitholestes―unlike its depiction in Walking With Dinosaurs―did not possess a bony crest on its snout, it had a rectangular snout with a long tail and elongated second digits similar to―but not exactly the same as―dromaeosaurs cf. Eretmophyllum leaves are a kind of ginkgoale leaf known from the Morrison formation where Ornitholestes is from, they had an overall elongate profile with a variable amount of small lobes at the top but typically three
in a murky ephemeral pond, a Tanyka swivels its jaw around to feast on the abundant algae present in the water, its lower jaw is the only thing in focus. a blurry forest of Calamites can be spotted in the background Tanyka is a basal-tetrapod from Brazil only known from its lower jaws that suggest it was able to rotate its lower jaws in a novel way, the authors suggest that this feature accompanied by its unique tooth plates could mean it was herbivorous, but they make no definite conclusion Calamites is a tree sized relative of horsetails which is known from the same formation as Tanyka, they looked vaguely like horsetails growing like cone-shaped spruce trees
an Eosteus swims slightly above the other members of its school Eosteus is the oldest known well preserved and articulated bony fish. it's known from China and holds a wealth of information about the origins of bony fish and how we can go about researching basal members of Osteichthyes in the future. it appeared unlike any fish today with low-set eyes, large spines infront of all of its fins (save for the caudal fin), with the dorsal and anal fins being held up by the spines, and also elongate rhombic scales across its body
this week's #Paleostream flocking results!!!
today we sketched Megamastax, Ornitholestes, Tanyka, and Eosteus

Composite skeleton of the Early Cretaceous sauropod dinosaur Astrodon

A trio of greyish, mottled Plateosaurus. One rears up to feed from a tree while the other two wander around quadrupedally.
It’s funny how odd Luis Rey’s dinosaurs look when they aren’t vibrant and adorned with wattles, spines, etc.
Not in a bad way, of course, but it’s still pretty jarring!
I got Nargacuga, interesting
A gloomy primordial seascape, dominated by giant serpentine reptiles. Above, a pair of kite-like pterosaurs with toothy jaws soars.
A pair of Pteranodon with spotty wings soar low over the waves of an idyllic seascape, backed by giant white clouds.
A group of Pteranodon with red, backswept wings launch from a rocky seaside cliff, soaring over the heads of young pterosaurs which perch on the rocks.
A Pteranodon with a widely splayed posture and forward-angled wings soars low over calm waves, casting a shadow of a trio of gull-like Cretaceous seabirds.

Illustrated parody of the anime Frieren, featuring Frieren, Himmel, Fern, and Stark but they’re all rodents (naked mole rat, rat, mouse, and hamster respectively) text says “Frierat: Beyond Journey’s Rodent”
I’ve been watching Frieren! The short life spans of humans compared to elves made me think of rodents, so I was like “oh i should draw everyone as rodents, i wonder what rodent has the longest life span”and it turns out that the longest living rodent is the naked mole rat …

Lala Barina immediately took the spot of "Fav 6th Gen Monster" for me the moment I saw it.
If you remember, when it was revealed in 2024 I immediately built a model for it...
but I made it too big!
This new LEGO model is correctly sized and more accurate.

A prompt sheet displaying weekly prompts for Monster March themed around popular monster-having series in media. Week 1: Jurassic World, Week 2: Pokémon, Week 3: Resident Evil, Week 4: Godzilla, and finally Week 5: Monster Hunter. Each week also has a select list of 6 monsters that will be chosen randomly via a dice or a wheel.
Okay! I'm going to try and do one of these every week for the month of March. This should be a fun challenge
Also feel free to join in if you want!

Illustration of a Loon, floating in water and looking to the left. Behind the bird is a brown paper texture with a darker brown gradient at the top. Water and a dark green gradient fill the lower half of the canvas. Behind the bird is a bokeh lighting effect in oranges and yellows, as well as a halo of white light. Colors are browns, greens, oranges, and sunset tones.
Painted a Loon earlier this week on my livestream in Procreate.
