doing everything you can to kneecap renewable energy development and then immediately launching an illegal war that threatens non-renewables and may result in a catastrophic increase in energy prices is the republican party in a nutshell

on this team and gonna keep saying: behind the extremely thin veneer of concern and responsibility of anti-Bluesky takes is the desperate attempt to portray something that is obviously their problem as though it were our problem. nice try. go with God, have a blessed day

The degree to which even informed folks have internalized Murc’s Law is depressing.

I think it’s just European peasant food? There are French and English versions too, probably more. That video is jigglier than head cheese though, and I’m with you. That wobble is a no for me.

My grandma used to make syltΓ€, which is Swedish head cheese, and she’d boil down all of these joints and assorted scraps and turn them into jellied meatloaf. My husband’s super Slavic family made the same thing but added lots of garlic. Anyway, no. Nope. Never. Not even once.

We genuinely need a revival of virtue in the United States.

In my view, that’s almost as critical a project as any other structural reform project necessary in the wake of trumpism. We should become a society that actually values human life such that we would feel shame about this.

Do you ever just stop and think about how the federal government is attacking our state physically and financially *because* we were actually living too well by their metrics and the they can’t tolerate the integral part that immigrant and POC Minnesotans play.

A reminder that Minnesota as a whole sends more revenue to the federal government than it gets back, and on a per capita basis Minnesotans contribute more revenue to the federal government than residents of almost every other state in the nation.

I have but one precious life and if you think I’m going to spend it watching clips of a barely sentient human sack of used colostomy bags bloviate for over an hour, you’re wrong

There’s a lot of talk in my field that AI combined with LiDAR will replace my role, and I’m not sure I can envision a scenario where AI + LiDAR hold legal accountability for mistakes nor the E&O insurance necessary for such an endeavor.

Tell me you’re staying at the Marchand! That place is gorgeous. I need to go back via the train.

@irisandmaeve.bsky.social finally got to visit Tropes & Trifles today - look who we found hanging out there! My daughter was very happy - thanks for the tip

Ada! Back when I was a wee young finance lass, I was offered a promotion with the bank where I worked on the condition that I move to either Ada or Hoyt Lakes. I did not move. I think that was a smart choice.

It bears mentioning that Isle is within the 1855 treaty boundaries and is part of the reservation. Given local animosity toward the 2022 federal ruling on that topic, it's fascinating to see what's considered lawful (ICE) and what isn't (judge's ruling on rez boundaries).

"David, who owns a construction subcontracting company, was chased by federal agents from the driveway of the home he owns while unloading his tools from the bed of his pickup" is the kind of stuff that sound designed in a lab to prey on the fears of exurban Gadsden flag fliers

19.02.2026 19:06 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

Is that the same tactic used to find the mechanic that was lured out of his home by the two female ICE agents pretending to have car trouble?

I know it feels like nothing breaks through to the chuds but I feel like "being hunted in your home because your name is on the tax deed" should.

In my (suburban/exurban) area, ICE has been stalking homeowners with Latino last names. IDK if they're using Onyx, or GIS tax data, or whatever to find their targets, but it's an added layer of WTF to this giant WTF layer salad. I know of at least four who've been targeted.

One of the most galvanizing aspects of life here, both individually and communally, is knowing just how morally repugnant ICE and this administration is. I cannot imagine voting for a candidate who is unwilling to meet the community on this basic level.

A lot of discussion about faith and politics, and as someone who regularly attends church but am not quite sure what I actually believe, my general feeling is that Democrats need leaders who can articulate their moral clarity about why they’re running and where this country needs to go.

What's wild is that in this case you can really see how subject-independent the narrative setting is, like, it doesn't matter what woman it is, they know and reach for the same file

I’m in my 40s, was a ballet dancer en pointe earlier in my life, feet are janked. Scarring from a fractured metatarsal, plantar fasciitis. Even with custom orthotics my feet were constantly in pain. A month into tirzepatide I no longer had foot pain. It’s been over a year, it’s life changing.

My husband is not a traditionally romantic man, but he just changed the batteries in the two chirping smoke detectors at 4:50AM without a complaint and I think that’s its own romance

Tell you what I’m OVER: The patronizing framing of feature stories marveling at how moms are throwing down right now for their communities. Come on. They’re constantly doing this emotional labor, planning, and work. It is not a stretch to assume their *skills* can be put to use on a larger scale.

Last year I was raking back the straw mulch from my veg garden beds and found a mama vole with about 12 babies nursing. She bolted into the woods with the babies attached - scared the heck out of me!

Absolutely no professionals were involved with the design and installation of that kitchen. They used laminate outside corner molding to cover the front edge of the counter - I wasn’t even aware of its existence, and I design kitchens for a living.

What are your thoughts on MW drawers vs the standard built in w/ frame kit?

I need to know the scoop on this. For actual professional reasons.

(My MIL’s entire kitchen is 18 yr old W/SZ and the MW is the only thing that’s died)
