–getting notified at 9pm that i lost my job of 5 years, effective immediately
–no explanation or investigation
–using transphobic language about me in the press
–tabloids publicly speculating about my sex life

this slaps. I listened this morning and was having the time of my life. another see saw win
one time, in a meeting with gq x p4k staff, I had to remind them in that firing me they were letting go of a queer woman on a staff that at the time had TWO other full time women on it. Ok I'm done! Good luck to everyone left at that hell!
also I'm sorry...the line about brutal firings. I waited maybe three to four months, daily, to see if the company was going to email me and tell me I had to move or lose my job. It was HELL. I was mentally not well!
If I had a quarter for every time I had to remind bosses that there is more than straight white men we can prop up at Conde Nast, I would probably have a dollar.
As Alma notes, it was only months ago that four employees were illegally fired, Teen Vogue was shuttered, and employees, many who had done their work remotely for years, were forced to choose between moving to NYC with no assistance and no raise, to continue doing their work in office. I HATE CONDE!
