The reference of the medieval bats I used for the clay bats. I call them blanket bat, ears bat, bug bat and pecks bat.

These are the bats in question btw. I haven’t used polymer clay on such a small scale before so they are a bit rough around the edges 😅

Sadly I wasn’t able to finish Swordtember this year… My cat got very sick (she is okay for now) and that took up all my time for most of the month. I did recently make some charms and medieval bat trinkets for an upcoming Ren Fair. The bats are cursed and I love them.

Scale themed sword with weighing scales and a snake (kinda on the nose yes)

Bell themed “sword” (more like morning star). Old black weathered/rusted iron material. Pull the chain on the handle to adjust length of death ball.

Opalized Dino jaw fossil sword. Tied on a wooden paddle for support (like shark tooth paddles).

Clock sword based of Laco Pilot watch. Which I’m obsessed, with but they are huge and expensive. Hey at least I can use it as sword inspo right?

Thought I’d partake in Swordtember this year. I also haven’t really posted anything digital here, but this kind of thing is just easier for me to do in Procreate. I’m a bit behind, not sure if I’ll do all the prompts (Faith Schaffer’s list) but it’s fun!

I got some Himi gouache to try out so I can figure this medium out. My attempts in the distant past didn’t turn out how I wanted and I avoided it, so I thought it was about time I give it another shot. Just doodling some experiments in a little sketchbook.

A little drawing of an Uktena from Cherokee Native American folk lore as an ouroboros. It’s a giant horned serpent with a jewel on it’s forehead and poisoned breath. Some are depicted with wings. They are related to storms, thunder, lightning, disease and rainbows.
