Life Pro Tip: Delete all of your streaming services and get a DVD player and a library card. It's saved us over $100/month, cut down on tv time and what we do watch is much more deliberate now. Small bonus, gives a little Blockbuster hit of nostalgia picking out movies in person.
Also, very funny you also got yours from your mum too! Haha
Ours has a great game collection which we use too. Also, most libraries use the TLN library catalog app, so you “order” books in your library network. I’ve basically stopped buying novels, which saves money, but also a lot of having to figure out what to do with all the books after I read them!
I did this too! My parents gave me their old blu ray player- I’ve been really enjoying special features again!
Bonus points if you get Libby/ hoopla and kanopy!

Sad. My mum worked there for around 25 years, but laid off when the unions collapsed. I’ll really miss the HBC stuff, it’s a subtle nod to canadianness for me living stateside.
Maybe some magical Canadian company can rebuy it at a bargain price and bring it back to its former glory.
