March 8 - Industrial Murder in the Mines
On this day in Labor History the year was 1924. That was the day that tragedy struck at the Utah Fuel Company Mine in Castle Gate, Utah. The mine stood about 90 miles southeast of Salt Lake City. Coal mining began at Castle Gate in 1888.

What’s really odd (well frustrating) is one of the NEH Summer Institutes they cancelled was about AI & the Humanities, which the admin said it wanted to focus on. 🤦♀️ They did cancel all of the Summer Institutes but still annoys me (& I was hoping to go to it.)

Palaeontologist #MaryAnning was a legend in her lifetime. From 1821 to 1846 she's mentioned in at least 250 newspapers, magazines, popular books and scientific papers & books. Hundreds of geologists and tourists went to Lyme Regis to meet 'the celebrated Mary Anning'.

Last weekend was the big #LARP convention (@ least for me) I was busy playing & seeing friends so not many photos. But a few to share: 1st was a game set on the edge of a galactic empire near a mining asteroid influenced by SW. The 2nd was a horror influenced game set in 1926 (masks off 4 photos).
