Illustration of Margaret Anna Cusack with a quote from Women's Work in Modern Society (1874): Give women their rights then for these rights are justice - justice to men as well as women, for the interests of men and woman cannot be separated.

Very important article that reflects stories I have heard from families of those detained and facing deportation. They were following legal pathways for the most part. But then the rules (arbitrarily) changed. People need to understand and wake up to this reality

No doubt Sandra knows she will get push back and trolls from all sides of the political divide. And she knows what is happening is wrong and so she is telling her story.
I am grateful to know her and stand in solidarity

I got to know Sandra through volunteering at Delaney Hall. She is a tough cookie and a compassionate woman. She is brave to share her story here. I never met her husband but feel like I know Latif through her love for him.

On February 14, 1884, our founder, Margaret Anna Cusack, traveled to Rome with Sister Mary Rose to request permission to start the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace. This Valentine's Day we celebrate the special love she had for the poor, a love that continues to guide our ministry.
