Very important article that reflects stories I have heard from families of those detained and facing deportation. They were following legal pathways for the most part. But then the rules (arbitrarily) changed. People need to understand and wake up to this reality

Today, the Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace issued a press statement regarding their shareholder proposal with Palantir. To date, the company has not agreed to implement the proposal, which asks for a Human Rights Impact Assessment (HRIA).

No doubt Sandra knows she will get push back and trolls from all sides of the political divide. And she knows what is happening is wrong and so she is telling her story.

They would embrace outside the gates and put their heads together and share their sorrows and hopes, crossing any cultural barriers, their common humanity and belief in the power of love was what mattered. Then they would go together to check in at the gate with the guard.

One of the bittersweet highlights of my Sunday mornings at Delaney last fall was seeing week after week the connection build between Sandra and another woman whose loved one was also in detention.

I got to know Sandra through volunteering at Delaney Hall. She is a tough cookie and a compassionate woman. She is brave to share her story here. I never met her husband but feel like I know Latif through her love for him.

This Valentine's Day we celebrate the special love she had for the poor, a love that continues to guide our ministry.

Trump has done more to undermine the culture of life than he has to build it up.

The signatories list vulnerable conditions of their unit mates, such as those living with mental & physical disabilities, at-risk elders, & juvenile detainees. Advocates denounce the conditions that compelled the men to feel as though they needed to apologize in the first paragraph.
