Something I’ve learned - the best research environments aren't sterile. They're alive with creativity and warmth, with huge fish murals and dogs who have no idea what a p-value is but show up to lab meeting anyway. Science is a human endeavour and humans need to be inspired by their surroundings.

Do we actually know about the chromosomal sex in these samples? We know the PCR test, developed in other species, has results that are not 100% consistent with morphological sex, and there are several potentially interesting reasons why.

Public Service Announcement: Not all typos in scientific papers are LLM hallucinations. We are on alert about AI errors in the scientific record, but humans make mistakes as well. Maybe offer a bit of grace when you see one typo in a paper, and don't assume it is silicon- rather than carbon-based?
