I'm not worried about "... Is he handsome enough? Does he match so-and-so's likeness correctly? Will people judge me on accuracy? Do I have to worry about sexy anatomy?"... Like none of that comes into play here, and I feel easy and free.

I always default to ugly/weird dog animals whenever I'm just idly doodling. My hand just naturally gravitates towards them whenever I'm not trying to create anything in particular. I think it's because they are easy and comfortable for me, versatile and I don't feel pressured.
