The more deedlit in the world the better
I dont think writers block is actually real, just people not very good at the act of writing dominating the conversation.
Writing something about this but seriously designers need to stop seeing "you can do anything in this game" as a reason not to provide mechanics to their core fucking premises. Only a small subset of (mostly experianced) players will do stuff that is not mechanicly connected.
I really like this perspective, what makes good 'art' isnt always what makes good games and vice versa.
I wanna make an art piece thats transphobic headlines from newspapers and printed off from online put into a paper mache creation of a tree that morphs into a female dryad complete with tits and a dick. I think itd be cool but i dont really do anything like this... my gf is the fine art one.
Omfg can they just add a fucking edit button to this stupid fucking app already.
Its so so bizzare the "talk to your friends and lretend to be someone else" game has combat as such a default expectation. Like hell it makes some sense in video games and movies, flashy action and blood is fun, but thats not the same in words and rolling dice. MOST 5e players fucking hate combat.
Like if i wanted to be more serious about it, riffing on blurred line's photagraphy rules is the best way imo, but above is the dumb fun way id do it lmao.
Thinking how id do a fatal frame ttrpg and tbh id make it a 1gm 1player dungeon crawler like runecairn, but the camera has a drawing dexterity element to defeat ghosts - a bit like exclusion zone botanist meets lay on hands.
As far as i am concerned bloodborne and sekiro are a type of survival horror, just with action*
*veryyy different from action horror games.
I believe everything gm side is super under-utilised design space, especially in shaping and shifting the way the world / experience is narrated
The university wriring course mandating ' instead of " for speech marks "because its the british way" is so bizzare. Like 1. Both are the british way 2. The latter is waaaaay more common to the point, like 80% of the books on my shelf (and i read a lot of older novels!)
Theres the 'dnd university"
Grifter space and the broke artistic indie space and they do not touch except for a small overlap entitled 'manifestos'
You want a gane that doesnt communicate its rules and has messy design that just displays a discirdant "vibe"? Thats 5e
Designers love writing "manifestos" that dont even align with how they make games themselves
7 stick insect babies now omg, we have to start giving some away
Fogweaver is dungeonsynth heavily inspired if not adapting le guin's earthsea
But my favorite pictures from Venice is not cats but this combination that I think of as βmissed connections.β
Reeling over watching all of Industry holyyyyyy shit
Tbh most of my time is taken up by the extremely fun hobby of sitting down and reading a ttrpg book. I probably read 3-4 games a week, and ive never considered that strange until now.
Protoceratops
this shit is so fucking hot
Your PC doesnt need a reason to go into the dungeon, theyre an adventurer, they do need a reason to go into THAT dungeon.
Bleh im cutting the moors from misbeggotten county; it made it all a bit zoomed out when i wanted the focus on the town. I may also revise my map idea idk
Who the fucks look at evangelion and thinks... yes we must debate who of the teenagers should date. Grow up!! Get a life! Have sex and a fucking shower! Its been 30 yrs of this shit!
