Birding this week along Lake Erie, south of Detroit in Monroe County, and once again, Lake Erie is magical for winter waterfowl. A real pleasure to bird here.

I'm about 5 minutes from there, doing sales visits in the Detroit area this week. Unbelievable and so sad that this keeps happening.

When you are a bartender making a playlist, ask yourself, β€œwould this song be on in a CVS?”

I can't believe LinkedIn has added games. Stop trying to make LinkedIn happen. It's not a cool place to hang out.

INSANE MICHELIN CHEF GUY: In the past, I have perhaps been a bit hard on my employees and I apologize.

REPORTER: A former line cook says you rented a bulldozer and drove it into his house while screaming "this is how subtly you're placing parsley motherfucker"

CHEF: i now realize that was wrong

Yeah and if you have neighbors heavily spraying insecticide, there's probably not much you can do. 😟

Biggest improvement we had to get fireflies back at our home was to "leave the leaves." Once I stopped raking, they came back.

Also noteworthy that this was early enough in the history of family computers that we didn't have purpose-built furniture for it. This computer sat on our kitchen table for years.

Yes, but do you still have a machine to stick it into? (My dad does. An Epson QX-10, a fine computer in its time.)

Exclusive: Defense executives plan to meet at White House as strikes on Iran diminish stockpiles Companies including Lockheed Martin and Raytheon parent RTX have been invited.

buried lede: the government wants $50 billion more of your money to fund war, on top of the $85 billion of your money senators of both parties just handed ICE, on top of $153 billion of your money the Department of Defense plans to spend this year although it was originally allocated for five years

A screenshot depicting a running sound recording on Merlin. A selection of Virginia birds are being highlighted, including the Carolina Wren, the white-throated Sparrow, the Northern cardinal, the dark-eyed junco, the Blue Jay, and the house finch. A great big section of the audio is taken over by a large impulse noise, which is a human sneeze.

Yes actually! If you google transferring music from spotify to apple music, it's a few step process... majorly simple. All the albums, artists, playlists, etc. come over! 1-2-3-easy!

Here is another example of AI displacing workers. I think it's rotten. Unless we radically reform Capitalism and institute basic income, people will be left without jobs. People need SOMETHING TO DO!

Lifetime Android user, has ditched Spotify for Apple Music and I'm not looking back.
After the ridiculous price increases on Spotify and the way they don't pay their artists, it was time to move on. Apple made it easy to transfer all my playlists and favorites too.

Just started reading The Birding Dictionary and am reminded of Ambrose Bierce. I've laughed aloud at the American Robin definition and then stopped to search to learn more about the Anhinga b/c my curiosity was piqued. Small book that's big on fun and learning.
