Ben, I met you once at Bocca di Bacco and was so shocked to meet you, I forgot to say I’ve been in one of your movies accidentally, and saw dress rehearsal of a play long ago. I told you I’m a fan.

Tonight’s finale though? Absolute masterpiece. I am applauding all of you. πŸ‘πŸΌ πŸ‘πŸΌ

β€œFederal officials told the university it must immediately place its Middle Eastern, South Asian, and African Studies Department under β€œacademic receivership for a minimum of five years.”

This is incredibly alarming. A complete overreach of university autonomy. Not to mention blatantly racist.

She saw family in Lebanon. Now this Brown Medicine doctor is being held at Logan for deportation. Dr. Rasha Alawieh flew into Logan Airport Thursday after visiting family in Lebanon. She's being detained now at Logan without legal counsel.

They're trying to deport my colleague from the med school and holding her without counsel. She was coming back from a visit to her family. If there are ways to help I'll let you know. www.providencejournal.com/story/news/l...

This is why we must fight for everyone. Whether they’ve been incarcerated or have had contact with the criminal legal system or are merely undocumented. When you accept that some people are deserving of detention and deportation the scope of who is eligible is always under threat of expanding.

Does anyone else wonder about No Other Land in the sense that, like, why do we need an Israeli narrator to make it acceptable to talk about Palestinian pain, land theft, and settler colonialism?

Another way to put this:

Musk and his twerps have exposed us to pandemics, broken science, stolen all your data, endangered the U.S. payments system, threatened air traffic control, and cut off HIV medication to 20m people in order to save ::checks notes:: 2/10th of a percent of the federal budget.

Wait so Israel held a bunch of Palestinians in concentration camps without charge just for being Palestinian, and then they not only starved, tortured and conducted experiments on them, but actually made them wear a Star of David? That's... pretty wild.

Goran
World - yesterday

As someone who grew up under an authoritarian regime, I can offer one crucial piece of advice: time is everything. If you don’t stand up nowβ€”if you don’t protest, resist, disrupt, and refuse to complyβ€”you may lose your country forever. Authoritarianism thrives on silence, hesitation, and fear. The longer people wait, the more entrenched the regime becomes, making resistance exponentially harder. Every moment of inaction is a moment the regime uses to tighten its grip. History has shown that those who act early have the best chance of reclaiming their freedom. The time to fight back is now.

Elon Musk’s companiesβ€”Tesla and SpaceXβ€”have received billions in government contracts and subsidies. Yet, this issue is largely ignored. Isn’t it time we started holding corporations accountable for the massive burden they place on taxpayers?
