Btw, if you're bummed about the new Marathon being an extraction shooter and just want to play the originals again, the original devs made them free and open source on the Aleph One website and on Steam. They're free. And they're worth playing.

Why did Marathon have to be an PvPvE extraction shooter? Every other Marathon game was a single player campaign shooter. WHY COULDN'T IT HAVE BEEN ANOTHER SINGLE PLAYER SHOOTER LIKE THE ORIGINALS? The originals had lore and an ongoing story. Not seeing anything about the Spht or Pfhor in gameplay.
