I think we need to evolve an etiquette around LLM-generated fixes. Kind of like ”don’t fart at the table”.
I don’t mind merging PRs where a human has done the due diligence to review the patch.

My obsessive compulsive need to alias Napari as “np” was what finally convinced me that aliasing is a smell.
i.e., the code that is currently viewed as acceptable for papers is, truthfully, unacceptable and if the tooling improves our expectations as a community should improve too. I know that sucks to hear if you’re a graduate student, but i think it’s better to face that reality sooner than later.
This is my experience too. However, I’ve started to notice that some of the models are serviceable for one-off scientific projects and papers but I’d also argue that we should move the goalposts and dramatically raise expectations for that type of code. bsky.app/profile/clif...
