it's kinda interesting that outages on bluesky are almost always partial - the site still works but something weird is broken. Meanwhile over on X "✨️The Everything App✨️" when it goes down it goes down for EVERYONE and nothing works

interesting tradeoff of display quality at the sides where you probably won't notice in normal use for a cool feature
also probably the only thing that's even remotely interesting in the entire #galaxyunpacked lmao
this means when Privacy Display is on, the display resolution and brightness are halved. But more importantly I think this also means even when the feature is "off", when you view the display from the sides *the same thing will happen*, because you can't see the narrow pixels from the side!
so the Privacy Display featured at #galaxyunpacked apparently work by turning half of the screen pixels into "narrow pixels", which emit light in a narrow cone to achieve the privacy screen effect. To turn the feature on the phone simply turns off the normal pixels, leaving the narrow pixels on 🤔
@aaron.bsky.team has addressed this in the past that it's too risky to add more trusted verifiers rn
