Rather concerning… “But more pedestrians and bicyclists were killed in those crashes than have been in any year since 2020.”

Kansas City just accomplished something I didn't think was possible...they built a truly excellent modern streetcar line. And it's just the beginning for them! youtu.be/LDqsQBglwF8
Happy @kcstreetcar.org Expansion Friday to all who celebrate! Stretching nearly 6 miles from the Riverfront to UMKC, the service has outperformed nearly every other modern streetcar operation in the U.S. on its initial route.🎉🚊
Wild, was there 2 weeks ago.
Above and below of existing northern loop alignment in Downtown Kansas City
Objectively, what you can do with the space taken up by freeways, like in Kansas City, is really wild.
Hopefully they’re getting some of the new ones out to burn-in!
A lot of work has occurred in a week & a half at the 3rd & Grand area. Now that the equilateral track has been installed, & concrete poured, streetcar testing in that area can begin. We are 1 step closer to resuming downtown KC Streetcar service...just in time for #Superbowl Sunday. Go Chiefs!
Catch the vehicle numbers that were out on the line?
Goals.
Woof, resident satisfaction falling off a cliff.
3️⃣ office-to-resi projects (1 complete, 2 under construction) around downtown DC today. 🏗️
Not like the City spent $50M to build a 1,000 space (LOL 😂) parking garage around the corner... Insane.
#kcstreetcar testing on the Main St Extension is underway. You can find the team & an empty streetcar rolling through midtown today and Thursday.

I laughed.
Yep.
Fire up the grill?
Hopefully they setup a custom domain, just @kcmo.gov.
Not quite sure Riverfront extension will be done this time next year, and likely a lot of Riverfront district phase 1 construction happening next to stadium then. 2026 probably has it all, plus the new bike-ped bridge... Never a perfect time. ha
We’ll just assume they used zero-based numbering (very common in software), makes you #161,161!
I guess I’ll be here too.
