I find it infinitely entertaining that I am pretty sure my boss reviews my briefs almost primarily to regulate the amount of snark I direct at the State. π I find my arguments not only persuasive but hilarious. #AttorneyAtSnark
union members, turn up β an injury to one is an injury to all
The ableism surrounding the idea of Biden using a wheelchair is just too much. COME ON! We push people to stay on their feet for what? Mobility aides would keep them safe (avoiding falls & breaks) and more able to participate in all aspects of public life. Stop using the word confined. Please.
Adriana Smith was a young mom and Emory Hospital nurse who tragically lost her life in February while nine weeks pregnant.
Georgiaβs abortion ban is forcing Adrianaβs family β against their wishes β to keep her body on a ventilator for 7 months to incubate the fetus.
The cruelty is unfathomable.

we live in a country where it's legit good news that the woman who's been in a gestapo prison for six weeks for writing an op-ed is being released on bail
hey! hello! people in Texas are ALREADY dying from these bans, and thatβs WITH travel as an option! things can get much worse, everyone!!!
This part! My life is NOT more valuable than my SILβs because I have a job, pay taxes, or am getting married! Stop reinforcing ableist and eugenic talking points by trying to prove their gaslighting wrong. Disabled folks are loved & important full stop protect us all!
INCREDIBLE opinion by Wilkinson refusing to stay Judge Xinis's orders in the Abrego Garcia case, condemning DOJ's arguments as "shocking not only to judges, but to the intuitive sense of liberty that Americans far removed from courthouses still hold dear."

You know the *only* reason he got out so fast was a reporter live posted about this for hours. And, a large amount of public pressure.
Every time someone gets grabbed, there has to be a robust public response immediately.
the tech-aligned natalism movement is usually presented in media as the normie version of quiverfull and i cannot stress enough that it extremely the fuck is nothing close to normie
It's genuinely hard to express to sort of normal not politically plugged in non-lawyers *how* lawless the Trump administration is, and I think that's some part of the problem.
You sound like you're hyperventilating, but it's just a flat description of what is going on.
Abrego Garcia wasnβt deported. He was kidnapped. Heβs not in a prison. Heβs in a π camp. He was denied his right to due process and everyone in the U.S., including those without legal status, have constitutional rights to due process under the Fifth and Fourteenth Amendments. 1/
As a millennial litigator there are two wolves inside me, one loves the flexibility and environmental benefits of digital docs, the other desperately needs hard copies for anything longer than 5 pages. π«
Trying to talk myself out of printing a +400pg depo so I can βreallyβ read it.
Even if you (wrongly) believe that some immigrants lack due process rights, whatβs to stop the government from claiming that *you* are an undocumented immigrant; removing you to El Salvador; citing an βadministrative errorβ; and refusing to do anything to bring you back?
The answer is due process.
It's just very very hard to litigate against a party that is not acting in good faith and doesn't care about the penalties the courts have to offer.
Folks impacted by immigration courts have been telling folks for YEARS that these βcourtsβ provide everything but justice. The whole system is rotten from the inside out this is just the most recent example.
it's wild that today ICE was just like, "we're the thought police" unironically
There is nothing like lounging on the couch on a Friday afternoon watching my fiancΓ© play with our cat and watching Stanley Tucciβs Finding Italy π₯°
