I am playing an early (5-9pm) fundraiser for the excellent Synth Library on Black Friday 11/28 (I'm on at 6:30). It's ALL AGES and features a synth petting zoo & raffle. Please come and support SL, and introduce family/friends to the fun of synthesizers!!

Oh heck yes, it sure is!
About 15 years ago, I went entirely open source for contract illustration and design, and once I got over the learning curves for the open tools, Adobe is just a non factor in my life. Glad to hear you're going for it!
Sounds great.. tuff & punchy drums!
๐ ...and Five more years til the 50th, yeah I hope you unearth more tracks

The City (Portland club) zine from Oct 1989
The City (Portland club) zine from Oct 1989
The City was a nightclub in Portland from the 80s that had its last years on NW 12th. I kept a copy of their short-lived zine in one of my old records from back then.
I lucked out in buying the cassette back then, not realizing until later how special that growing up hearing Carnage Visors was.
No, I think that after learning OSs that change with little retroactive use of past understanding/jargon/shortcuts, older people just call the new designers' bluff and have zero enthusiasm to learn. Whatever you learn is useless in 5 years (besides a younger generation scoffing at you), so F it!
I should use this to convince Sylvan to wear his sunglasses more often
Me too.. there was a nice transition into drum machines that Dunbar just slid into easily
Its part of a Record Store Day all-day event, and @alysonprovax.bsky.social has new artwork on display!
Solenoid live 101+202+303+606 (real!) hardware set this Sat afternoon at 2:00PM(!) @Mint Gallery Records (pdx usa)...followed by Strategy live hardware set at 4PM celebrating "A Cooler World" album tape release !
There are wacky boats in the background!
Peeps are good for s'mores btw
Hmm, bsky didn't like 6 drawings at once.. here's the other two, Thinking Spell and FLX
These are drawings from the Modbang event in Portland, 2025-03-28 -- Brother vs Robot (VJ), Akemie, Thinking Spell, FLX, and Vulkauf @brothervsrobot.bsky.social

Oof, no one was buying vinyl any more at the time I bought that when it came out in the 90s
The bside of the US 12" is a nice moody space disco track too
I have had my 1200 (and bought another 1200) where the bearing on which the tonearm pivots gets bad and the arm doesn't track properly (stiff, skips). It was hard to get an original 1200 tonearm replacement 15 years ago. I'm curious to know if you can get one now, or if the new tonearm work.
We names our kid Sylvan Lloyd .. later it was realized how much it sounded like "Solenoid". But also that his first name was nearly an anagram for "vinyls" (which irks me greatly). I used to think of myself as "not a total idiot", lol
It has a nice frantic energy!
I like a good wacky upbeat, dual mic technique
I'll check out the Moin project thanks!
I'd had only one DS and was always meh about that 2010- era of dark ambient drone etc (I found the hype hard to get past sometimes ugh) Most of it wasn't doing anything new (I'd already been collecting since the 80s), but the Quarter Turns 2lp feels like a cohesive peak for 2008-2018 era.
