She didn't tell to eat cake, as far as I know.

Oh, you mean Elon Musk… Well, lots of people were fooled by the muskrat… As for hindsight, it’s always 20/20…

Reading Clevinger & Wegener’s later “Atomic Robo” graphic novels. Two down, two left to go… “The Dogs of War” has Nazi superweapons and Robo foiling their plans… “The Shadow from Beyond Time” has Lovecraft, Charles Fort and Carl Sagan helping Robo fight an entity from outside the Universe…

I have never walked out of a movie, but I cam close to it with "Highlander 2".

As with Star Wars, the successful movie was made by people who grew up on a stew of stories that became part of their life’s souls. The imitators based their ‘work’ on that, not on the source material.

Well, everything ages, especially a story written in 1885…

SiriusXM is playing Benjamin Britten’s “Peter Grimes” and some part of it sounded familiar. I eventually realized it reminded me of Ennio Morricone’s score for 2000’s “Mission to Mars”.

I just read William Preston’s story “Stay”… It got me in the feels… To the author I say “Good job!”

1950’s version of the movie is quite good, for a movie of that era. Africans are not played as stereotypes. And it is very opposed to hunting as ‘sport’.

I grew up a Catholic. Catholics tend to go for self-punishment.

It made the original novel look almost enlightened where it came to racial stereotypes.

He was fine in “Shogun”, and yes there are many better older movies to watch. I watched parts of it to see if it was as bad as I remembered.
