winter is being a sore loser
Brief flutter of sunshine this morning so I managed to get out and visit a favourite shed that seems to have just about survived the worse that this winter has had to throw at it. I love winter light, however fleeting it is.

Oil painting of shadows of plants and the artists profile.
November shadows. Oil on fine canvas.
My series of documenting the light as it changes in my environment throughout the year. This is what happens around 8ish in my kitchen in November on a sunny morning.
(Paint still wet but I think it's finished)

Very nice, mate ๐
Falling snow on a large plaza. In the distance is a small ship at dock.

Photograph of the side of an end of terrace house. Scaffolding is up and the render is part removed. Tarpaulin that should be covering the scaffold has been torn apart by the wind, the large fragments are hanging and blowing in the wind.

I've somehow missed these, hopefully the feed will help! I'll try and have a go for next week, looks fun ๐
Thanks Aden, appreciate that! The loose sketchiness allows me to even attempt to draw something, I would never get past the first line if every line felt too substantive. I really liked the photo, and the minimalism felt manageable for an attempt!
Monochrome photograph of a marshy field. A lone tree stands on a ridge over the water, it is reflected in the murky water.
Photograph of a sketch of the previous image on a notepad. Questionable likeness ๐
Had a Sunday lunchtime mindfulness sketching hour ๐ฌ๐
Monochrome photograph of a rural scene. A telegraph pole is central, with its ruffled reflection at a jaunty angle on the river below. Trees behind it also have their reflections faintly drawn in alongside.

Thanks mate. Yeah, he gets everywhere! Looks good up there ๐
Monochrome photograph of a building behind a metal fence. It now looks empty and is covered in graffiti, a large 'H' is on the side.

Monochrome photograph taken close to the rear of a VW car. The gates in front of where the car is parked & facing have 'No Parking' scrawled in white paint. Stickers on the car say 'My life... my rules...', and 'Queen'.

Photograph of a country scene at the side of a river, looking towards the horizon across fields. Below is an area that occasionally floods, it is littered with debris from the water.

Photograph of a small pub in a Georgian terrace. It is closed, the windows are whitewashed, the brackets that would have held the pub sign and flower pots are still in place.

Photograph of a wall down a side alley. The bricks are a nice yellow/brown colour, some of the bottom bricks are being hollowed out by the constant dampness. A face in a balloon has been graffitied on the wall. A black door has been tagged in numerous colours, a yellow ramp for access. Faintly visible is a painted sign 'No Park', the rest of the letters cut out of the fame.

Now, *this* is poetry ๐
a wander up the Kentmere valley yesterday in pretty overcast conditions......saw this little tree atop a small crag above us.
That's a beautiful thing, Mick ๐

All four images are monochrome photographs of rain-soaked fields. The (brief interlude of) sunshine reflects, creating large silvery puddles. A few of the fields have a stream of water flowing downhill.

Photograph of a small building on a grassy mound beyond a metal fence. There are no windows, just a couple of large air bricks. The sandy coloured & textured render is breaking away, revealing red bricks.
