The Longhorn clearly has a look one can't miss. Not many play them. So it's more unique.

Yeah, that's very true. It would have been amazing to see how Jimi evolved.

Definitely. Plus the Avalon AV2T guitars are pretty spiffy. We've had several of them. They're really nice playing and sounding guitars.
Absolutely! I go back to it fairly often. But, it does get looped into my Gene Clark moments. I tend to play an artist entire catalog over the course of a day.
Kris Kristofferson is currently in the que.
Sorry, you're right. I thought the red one was a 6 string but it's a bass. Here's one from ebay:

Jerry Jones built homages to the original Danelectro guitars. They were very high quality and excellent sounding. We've had a few of them over the years. They feel very solid.
Yeah, that's one of the things we love about these vintage guitars. Every nick, scratch, dent tells a story, don't it!
Def, Roky rules!
I can see why you made that choice. Those first reissues seem iffy. But, they're decent guitars. You can probably pick up a used one for not too much money now.
Cool set of posters, eh! A few friends saw The Clash at Bonds on Broadway via their own connections to the band. Really wish I could have caught one of those shows. They're legendary!
That's very true. A well crafted song is at the core of it all.
Billy Strings is amazing! I've been digging his music for the last few years. I'm kicking myself for not seeing him years ago. A friend, who worked at the Knitting Factory here in Brooklyn, said he played small shows there many times.
I've seen a lot of them on ebay. But, the Danelectro website now shows quite a few of the longhorn models. They put out a lot of variations over the years:

A classic song and album if there ever was one!
Great album! I was listening to it this week.

I think it comes down to a musicians need for variations of tone & how to make it their own...&, of course, work w/the song. Ya know it's been said everything has been done before. So how does an artist make something their own. It's the subtleties of tone. And, sometimes its about guitar looks.
Definitely. In the last couple of years, I've been listening to a lot of their lives shows from around the time they released Workingmans Dead. Frequently, they did acoustic performances. It felt a bit like reliving one of those...10 years on.
I saw the 1980 Grateful Dead show at Radio City. Seeing them do an acoustic set was amazing. I've never been to the Hollywood Bowl. That's def on my list too.
ha! def!
Nice! The originals are usually in the $2500-$3500 range but some folks ask even crazier prices for them.
Yeah, they're an amazing band. I've seen them a few times. Fun shows!
I first saw the guitar in an advert from a French magazine. I can't even begin to know where to start with it. But, it would be fun to spending an evening trying all the sounds out.
That's it!!! Incredible band and super important in the evolution of PsychRock!
Very interesting! Thanks
That's very cool to have grown up so close to that scene. It was an important moment in music history.
Radio City Music Hall is well worth seeing a show at. The interior is just stunningly beautiful. And, make sure to visit the bathrooms/downstairs. There's sitting rooms with amazing details. Regardless of who ya see the architecture is the star.
Yeah, Paul's LIB Naked take was cool. I've got the box set with a whole bunch of variations too. It's epic.
That's really funny! RIP Johnny!
I'd swear I reference that advert 5-6 times per year in some silly conversation. It's a classic.
Yeah, Danelectro has been reissuing the longhorns for many years. There's a lot of variations on them. They're fairly inexpensive. I've never tried one out. But, they're probably decent if you don't want to break the bank.
