Land Registry price rise dubbed 'tax on proper journalism' Investigative newsrooms have decried a Land Registry move to double the cost of getting information, calling it a “tax on proper journalism”.

This is niche but: it is un-transparent and annoying that Land Registry docs cost money to access, but Companies House docs do not.

As a bare minimum, researchers and reporters should be able to access LR data free to aid public interest investigations
