You're right. They are. We're watching out for raccoons and put the netting over it to keep the squirrels out. Last month,a big snake got caught in the netting and was dead by the time we saw it. So glad that it wasn't still alive, that would've been a big problem.
Another month of growth, and we're envisioning a pineapple upside-down cake (ok, maybe a small one).
I am so proud that my home airport, Orlando International, has this information posted in the women's restrooms. It would be great if clinics, hospitals, physicians' offices, hotels, & airports all posted it, and if we all learned to recognize the signs.

A pineapple plant that we started with a pineapple top about 2 years ago is now beginning to fruit. I put an apple 1/2 in the center of the plant to get the fruit to start. It's exciting to watch this process.
